China has vowed to implement “necessary” countermeasures in response to a new threat by US President Donald Trump to impose an additional ten percent tariff on Chinese imports. This comes after a previous round of tariffs were imposed last month, escalating tensions between the world’s two largest economies.
The latest threat from the Trump administration is based on allegations that China has not done enough to prevent the flow of the powerful synthetic opioid fentanyl into the United States. Despite Beijing’s insistence that it has strict controls in place to combat narcotics trafficking, the US claims that Chinese fentanyl is still entering the country at unacceptable levels.
In response, China has firmly stated its opposition to the new tariff threat and has warned of retaliation if such measures were to be implemented. The ongoing trade dispute between the US and China has already had significant economic implications for both countries, with tariffs affecting a wide range of goods and industries.
As the two nations continue to engage in tit-for-tat measures, the global economy is experiencing uncertainty and volatility. The outcome of these trade negotiations will not only impact the economies of the US and China, but also have repercussions for the rest of the world.

I suggest a joint task force called Rush Hour 4 led by Jackie Chan & Chris Tucker. 😂
Look who is talking….China has been shown the mirror, that's all
So Trump is right. The US is the golden market.
lol China is upset that the tariffs might offset their heavily subsidized industries. Because only they can practice mercantilism.
The trump administration doesn’t plan anything. No intelligent design
Seems you need the definition of Blackmail. I gotchu
Blackmail is generally defined as the act of threatening to reveal information that would be damaging to someone unless they comply with a demand, often for money or other benefits.
So… misleading, rather purposefully or ignorantly. Got it.
China please trade with Europe in Yuans, and let the dollar fall apart!
Says the country whose national motto is pressure, coercion, and threat.😂😂
The US has realized the biggest unfair treatment comes from EU , not China. EU has been trying all it can to make the US and China fight.
China banned Google Facebook and YouTube for decade
Xi Jinping needs to be held accountable for any Fentanyl death in the US 🇺🇲 and Canada 🇨🇦.
To address Chinese 🇨🇳 unfair trade practices, President Trump is mandated to impose 60% tariffs on all Chinese products.
Additionally, China needs to change its behavior to remove the following tariffs:
– 20% on Fentanyl trafficking,
– 20% on human rights violations,
– 20% on Taiwan Strait and South China Sea aggression.
As an American it’s hard for me to see the conflict between China and the US in an unbiased way. There’s so much anti-China sentiment going on. But I’m very hesitant to believe anything the Trump administration says about China and I do believe they’re right in saying that this hostile approach is not the way to improve relations.
What did EU countries get for following US foreign policy like a sheep? 25% tariffs😂
"The shepherd tells the herd that they should be fearful of the wolf, which would come and eat them. However, it's the shepherd who eventually enjoyed a good mutton stew."
Chinese retaliate against US tariff, Macron bent on his knees to beg for mercy and sitting at the corner of president Trump's table.
China always pretends to be a good country.
Gullible, easily led America voted for the incompetent trump…China make em pay!
DW News needs to visit countries who have been working with China and see if their economies getting better or not. Also, do some extensive investigation about their circumstances too. Only then, you'll agree that Donald Trump's tariff on China is the right measure to take.
Chinese chemical companies shipping fentanyl precursors to Mexican cartela is actually the truth. I'm a chinese in the US, this is actually quite well known in China as well. Mony worshipping is the social norm in China, so companies and society in general, will do just about anything make money. If the cartel is willing to buy, China will sell. The government turns a blind eye because it needs the money.
Accidentally CONFIRMED by Chinese-born “Academic” & Western-educated Lawyer™️, Victor Gao:
“I would say, uhh, China need to make more, uhh, take more prompt actions in, uhh, dealing with, uhh, dramatic, uhh, aging population in China and the dramatic, uhhhh, population decline.”

China's best response is to ban the export of Trump's grift merchandise.
America sale Cocaine to china trade embargo against usa 🇺🇸
Ha Ha Ha,
What the lady in green does not realize is there is nothing in China that the US cannot get elsewhere. China is actually incentivizing foreign companies to move out of China.
China has no cards to play. There is nothing it can do to hurt the US economy.
Actually, China imposing tariffs helps America to balance trade.
I am looking forward to the impending shipping tariffs on Chines ships calling on America ports. That will be a game changer. A million dollar fee per American port call. It will destroy the Chinese ship building industry.
America can trade with the world and skip trading with the hegemonic, genocidal, surveillance police state run by the CCP and dictator Xi.
Europe don’t understand that Trump is trying to destroy china, Russia is Europe problem but USA need Russia business
Trump is incapable of doing his job so he scapegoats other countries and punishes consumers with tariffs.
