China has made a strategic move in the ongoing trade negotiations with the US by appointing Li Cheng-gang as its new trade negotiator. Li, who previously served as China’s envoy to the World Trade Organization, is known for his tough negotiating style and has earned the nickname “bulldog” for his tenacity in dealmaking.
His appointment comes at a crucial time as the trade war between China and the US continues to escalate, with President Trump imposing steep tariffs on Chinese imports. Li’s appointment signals a shift within the top leadership at the Chinese commerce ministry, with Beijing appearing to take a hardline stance in response to Washington’s actions.
Li’s experience and reputation as a skilled negotiator make him a key player in efforts to resolve the tariff war and strengthen China’s position in the ongoing trade dispute. With his track record of standing firm against US officials in past encounters, Li is expected to be a formidable force in future negotiations.
As China’s new trade negotiator, Li Cheng-gang’s appointment reflects Beijing’s determination to navigate the challenges posed by the trade war and protect its interests in the face of mounting pressure from the US. His role will be pivotal in determining the future trajectory of trade relations between the two economic powerhouses.

China must win.
China , your days of cheating us is over. You can negotiate all you want. Youre wasting your time. You think we are doing this to negotiate with you? We are done with negotiating.
The courts / supreme court can issue all the orders they want, but trump controls all the agencies / departments he has placed his people into to lead and if they don't act on the courts actions, nothing will be done. The courts are powerless!
President Xi is not willing to talk to Trump. He only asked Trump to appoint someone to negotiate with the Chinese negotiators, and will only meet with Trump for the signing ceremony afterwards.
I think Trump should appoint his economic expert, Ron Vara, for that position.
⚠️🇺🇸⚠️ Trump changed his mind on usmca! Any deals with USA is worthless!
The tariff increase to 245% is just a stunt by Trump to look tough, because 3 main categories of US imports from China are already exempt, and will only be subject to a 25% tariff.
Exports are 18.5% of Chinas GDP, over 40% of S.korea gdp and over 22% of Japans GDP😂😂😂 nobody worries about them and i am pretty sure nobody exports more services than U.S,
According to western grades Chinas economy should have collapsed multiple times by now, Chinas deliberate popping of property bubble instead of artificially pumping money was supposed bring down the whole Chinese economy but as always China is holding around 5% growth as 18trilion$ economy compared to U.S around 2.4%
All this chaos just because of one orange man, unbelievable!
Watch how China deals with U.S. in disagreements.
This is how china will deal with you. But most likely harsher.
We’re in the kindergarten playground 🎉🎉🎉
A face even his own mother couldn’t trust😂
how is he Czar?
The EU and SEA needs to just absorb the products from China and stop talkking.
So, this is the guy that BS'd China's entry to the WTO when Bill Clinton was president. I think that is probably not going to work this time.
It's not even just about trade. It's china's passive aggressive cold war style of diplomacy. Using every trick in the book to undermine social cohesion national security. While U.S. can withstand it, like 280,000 fentanyl deaths since 2016, it's quite annoying, insulting, and aggravating. China's support of Russia has led to over a million deaths. U.S. needed to take a stand.
Chinese economy sucks. Stop gaslighting. All my Chinese friends are either unemployed or on the way to the unemployment line. And China has 12 million unemployed college grads coming this summer.
It’s hard to fully trust the GDP numbers China is posting.
They could be inflating them to make it seem like they don’t need the U.S. when their economy entirely depends on U.S. markets.
Who else is going to buy the specialized goods they make for the U.S.?
Did Xi visit Philippines? Enough said.
WTO AMBASSADOR, COMMUNIST CHINESE PARTY?
Know you love china. What happens to all trade routes when our rhe US Navy stops protecting with my tax money? Go to China? Go ahead. Us Americans like our stuff.
