Day 3 in New York City: A Tale of Iconic Landmarks and Broadway Magic
Welcome back to the third installment of our exciting New York City series! Join us as we delve into an action-packed day filled with iconic sights, delicious bites, and unforgettable experiences.
We kick off the day with a stroll through the enchanting flower district, making our way to South Ferry. Here, we embark on a boat adventure to the legendary Statue of Liberty. Enjoy breathtaking views of Manhattan’s skyline as we approach this symbol of freedom. With tickets to the pedestal, we ascend to witness panoramic vistas, coupled with fascinating fun facts about Lady Liberty. Although we couldn’t ascend to the crown this time, the pedestal offers a fantastic viewpoint and plenty of history.
After exploring the statue and visiting the accompanying museum, we hop on another boat bound for Ellis Island. Despite some construction limiting our experience, the historical ambience of the famous Registry Room and Baggage Room is captivating.
Next, we hit Times Square to snag half-price Broadway tickets at the TKTS booth, successfully scoring seats for the hilarious “The Play That Goes Wrong.” Before the show, we satisfy our hunger with a quick stop at Los Tacos No.1, known for its mouthwatering flavors.
Our adventure continues at the RiseNY experience in Times Square, where we feel the thrill of soaring over the city. Though it’s an uplifting attraction, we recommend it mainly for those using the Go City app for discounted entry.
As evening approaches, we wander through the festive Hudson Yards, adorned with twinkling lights and Christmas decorations that evoke the holiday spirit. We stroll by the Vessel before making our way to the High Line, a beautiful elevated park that offers a unique perspective of the city.
Back at the hotel, we share our shopping finds from Old Navy and the Disney Store, gearing up for our Broadway adventure. After a brief refresh, we return to the New World Stages for an evening filled with laughter at “The Play That Goes Wrong.”
