Doechii Brings Back Her Swamp Sessions for Thunderous ‘Bombs’ Single & Doja Cat Loves It

Doechii’s back. The Swamp Princess dusted off her Swamp Sessions and shared the first installment of 2026 from the series on Monday (Oct. 12) with the explosive “Bombs.”

It’s a thunderous return for the Grammy-winning artist. Doechii spits at breakneck speed, spraying short-burst bars with precision over glitchy, anxiety-inducing production. “Million-dollar label advances bore me/ Make that when I post on a Story,” she spews.

She also directed the accompanying visual, which finds Doechii in an alluring metallic bikini. She heads from the mountainside forest to a dark cave, but it’s her golden breastplate that turns into a gun turret — reminiscent of the Fembots in Austin Powers — that steals the show.

Doechii’s latest release caught the attention of Doja Cat, who pleaded with rap fans from all walks of life to press play. “If you care about rap music or hip hop as a whole go listen to BOMBS by Doechii thank you,” Doja wrote on X. “Have a nice day.”

While Doja and Doechii are yet to collaborate, perhaps a team-up on Doechii’s highly anticipated debut album is on the horizon. The 28-year-old provided some insight into her upcoming debut LP and aspirations in a handwritten diary entry, which she posted to her IG Story on Monday.

“I spent the last few years relearning Hip-Hop as a student. Studying its language, history & roots. Now I feel inspired to contribute to evolve it,” she wrote. “A mission is brewing inside of me (a responsibility really) to see black womanhood exist at the center of Hip-Hop AND Pop.”

Doechii’s 2024 mixtape, Alligator Bites Never Heal, reached No. 10 on the Billboard 200 and won best rap album at the 2025 Grammy Awards.

Earlier this year, the TDE rapper joined forces with pop supernova Lady Gaga for the house-pop “Runway,” which landed on The Devil Wears Prada 2 soundtrack and notched Doechii a hit on the Billboard Hot 100 (No. 50 peak).
