The screen resolution of this movie is pretty bloody poor & not worth while watching!!
Almost like 'Ice-Cold from Alex' (a movie based on an actual story of 5 days of survival, by four through the Sahara, on an Ambulance Truck, through the desert), and it has two of its leads! Anthony Quayle and Sylvia Syms. … ('Ice-Cold from Alex' is in my top 3 or 4 war films – and with very little bloodshed, but with the greatest travel through the desert on a Winnebago!)
Nice water fall with pine trees in africa
Gordon was a badass.
Not sure why Quayle is a "Private" when he's clearly wearing Officers Insignia.
Nome em português "Revolta no Sudão", vi no cinema nos anos 60.
Nope, it along with most are still s*** holes
Okay fast and loose with both timeline and where certain types of African wild life are found in Africa. But a decent movie given all that.
Peak western propaganda movie 😂😂
What a B film. Reality ruined it for me. Any trip down the Nile would go pretty quickly, especially under sail. Once the rapids are reached, you are safe while walking ashore. Just north of the rapids, the Nile is navigable all the way to the Med. Above all, there can be no black Africans.
They back south, in Sudan. There is NO jungle to be seen.
Most of the early portions are from " The Four Feathers"
in that heat the dead body is going start to stink. i never smelled a dead body but they say dead humans stink a lot almost worse than dead animals. they also say, depending on what you ate before you died, can stink worse or less
7:57 wonder if this scene was used in the movie Four Feathers with Beau Bridges?
so the poms "lost" an empire…….. if that empire was at all like this then how the hell did they get an empire in the first place ????
OMG a Britsh story made by americans, it riddles full of silliness like if that is a normal thing. 😂😂 And th dress code of the Britsh officer, totally inappropriate
Dereck Fowles yes prime minister was also in one of the Hammer horror films.
Frightfully British, what
How can muslim fanatics be Great?? I doubt the IQ of the writer or narrator. There is not a single word written in world history about muslim fanatics which can be described as Great. Shame on you
This movie was obviously made on the cheap using hokey studio sets spliced with location shots from earlier big budget color spectacles, particularly "The Four Feathers". Even the last battle scene was taken almost verbatim from that film. To top it off, two of the lead characters, the Lt and the governess, behaved incredibly stupidly throughout the first half of the story. All the same, the story line had some unique twists that made it enjoyable. A similar but superior movie is "Flame Over India", aka "Northwest Frontier" (1959) with Kenneth More, Lauren Bacall, and Herbert Lom.
Charles Scheer, never disappoints, watched the Werner Von Braun story, now this. He made a lot of movies, and all of them are good.
Muslims still causing trouble today
Pathetic
I saw this film at the cinema when it came out. It was part of a double bill if I remember well. I was 11 at the time.
Amazing for the time. I think 99% of this movie was shot on in a sound studio. Heck, Anthony Quayle does the entire movie wearing black dress shoes.
Today Sudan continues the same confusion !
Jesus, to see Jenny Augutter(?) as a kid and think that in 10 yrs. or so would dazzle in Logan' Run. Nice memories.
Garbage from start to finish.
Anthony Quayle is great, as always. The female lead is insufferable. I had stop watching this 'B' movie attempt at history, it's too annoying.
Thank you Britain for helping to sort out Asia & Africa…….LoooooooooooL.
can you stop these annoying avertisments
What crap all British Banks were build on drugs and slavery😂😂😂3
Wow… I REALLY need to sit and watch this movie.
The two, Sims and Quayle were very much better in the classic "Ice Cold In Alex".
Fuzzy Wuzzies!
Excellent film.Broderick Crawford, Gregory Peck.First Class.Cheers Jim
The little girl is Jennifer Aguller. She was in Logans Run and An American Werewolf in London. Obviously later in life.
British stupidity at its best.
Is it a remake of the 1939 Classic the Four Feathers ?
Bloody Good Movie >> Thank You
I've seen some stupid movies in my time, but this makes the shortlist for among the stupidest. Sure, it's not intended to be grimly realistic, but the voluntary suspension of disbelief just couldn't survive the childish and unrealistic emotional responses and vast gulf between reality and the world this exists in.
This is a fun flick. All the stuff you'd expect to happen in Gordon's Africa (140 years ago). Unfortunately, the script and dialogue don't reach their full potential. But is does make for an entertaining afternoon's movie. Thanks for posting.
The first 10 minutes is nothing but stock shots from Alexander Korda`s "The Four Feathers" ! This really is adventure on the cheap.
