Exploring the Culinary Delights of Portland: Why It’s America’s Best Food City – Video

Portland, Oregon is a foodie’s dream come true, recently named the 10th Best Food City in the entire world by Time Out Magazine. I had the opportunity to explore this renowned foodie city on a food tour with Lost Plate Tours, and let me tell you, the experience was nothing short of amazing.

Starting off at Cartopia, a hub for food carts and food trucks, I delved into some poutine for the first time and let me just say, it was a game changer. From there, we ventured to Hawthorne Asylum for more delectable dishes, including cold Burmese noodles and waffles that were truly out of this world.

But it wasn’t just the food that made my experience in Portland unforgettable. The vibrant food cart pods, the craft beer at Rogue Brewery, the cozy indoor markets, all added to the charm of the city’s culinary scene. And let’s not forget about the lamb curry at Midtown Beer Garden, a dish that left me speechless with its bold flavors and tender meat.

While my experience in Portland was definitely influenced by the food tour I took, and the high expectations that come with being ranked as one of the best food cities in the world, I can’t deny that Portland has a lot to offer in terms of food. The endless choices, the diverse cuisines, the innovative dishes – all make Portland a must-visit for any food lover.

So if you find yourself in Portland, be sure to indulge in the culinary delights that this city has to offer. From food cart pods to craft breweries, the dining scene in Portland is truly one-of-a-kind. And who knows, you might just discover your new favorite dish in America’s Best Food City.
