Tammi Menendez, the wife of convicted murderer Erik Menendez, shared intimate details about their love story in a flashback interview with ET in 2005. Tammi spoke candidly about how they first met, their wedding behind bars, and the misconceptions surrounding her husband’s notorious case.
Before Tammi became Erik’s wife, she was like many others who followed the Menendez brothers’ trial on television. Little did she know that she would soon find herself deeply in love with one of the perpetrators. Despite Erik being sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for the brutal murders of his parents, Jose and Kitty Menendez, Tammi saw a side of him that few others did.
Tammi revealed that she was initially drawn to Erik’s intelligence and sensitivity. She explained how he proposed to her from behind bars and how their relationship blossomed despite the challenges of being separated by prison walls. Tammi’s unwavering support for Erik challenges the public’s perception of him as a cold-blooded killer.
Throughout the interview, Tammi addressed the biggest misconceptions about her husband, shedding light on the complexities of his character. Despite the heinous crimes for which he was convicted, Tammi sees a side of Erik that is often overlooked by those who judge him solely based on his past.
Tammi’s story is a reminder that love can bloom in even the darkest of circumstances. Her unwavering loyalty to Erik is a testament to the power of human connection and the complexity of the human experience. As Erik continues to serve his sentence, Tammi stands by his side, challenging societal norms and showing that true love knows no bounds.

They was raped free them NOW
If he gets out, then they have to start living a real relationship.
Tammi, Erik's wife, looks like a news reporter herself.
I’m glad Erik was able to find love. I hope Lyle found the same. They both deserve to finally feel what love from others feels like.
What is the name of the interviewer?
Was she there in the press conference? Same with Lyle’s wife?
She just couldn't help herself falling in love with a prisioner
Did it come out during the trial that their father was abusive? I always felt like they should have received time but definitely not 35 yrs. I can understand the ‘why’ in this case. They were just kids. They were living a horrible life and I can’t even imagine their trauma. They should be released.
They were victimized by their parents & our judicial systems as well 😢 shame full, Sad case. we can all learn from this unfortunate situation 😢. Free them they lost so much already breaks 💔 my heart
She was married to someone else
Because he's gorgeous and needs love
Are they still together? This was in 2005
Regardless if the dad molested them, they had no right to murder their parents. The law states they should have reported it to the police.
15 shots. Thats beyond brutal. If they are lying about the molestation, then they truly are evil.
White women love serial killers look at all the attention Jeffrey dahmer got after the Netflix show …
she seems so normal
Bizarre
Wow. Shes married and starts writing to a man accused of the crimes he was at age 18 meaning he had zero life experience on the outside. At the time he was sentenced it was life no possibility of parole. So she leaves her husband to marry a guy in prison for life. I don’t get it.
Are they still married ❓
I admire her strength and commitment to him!
The prosecutors and court psychologist said Erik is a homosexual. His wife should explain that.
She is a kook
Keep them locked up!!…….and while theyre at it, lock her up aswell!
Informative and impressive.
Omg 😱 insane
they need to make a movie on their love story
Go Menendez!
Erik's first night of freedom……….. what a story this has turned into.
What did her first husband have to say about this???
This woman dragged her poor daughter with her to drive hours every week to visit a killer
The marital test will be when he's released. Hope they make it.
she mislead us, she can have "family visit" with Erik, its on the CDCR website, its a 30-40 hour visit in a private apartment like facilities on the prison grounds
parents died a long time ago and their sons are stuck somewhere in a prison. get those boys out now
I always loved Erik and Lyle’s relationships with the women they met while in prison. Some convicts are manipulative behind bars and such but these two were described by the creator of series ‘monsters’ said that both brothers are very humble, accountable, respectful men. And Erik’s wife proves that.
I'm so glad that the brothers are going to be heard at last. Their father was a vile abuser and their mother didn't want to loose her fancy lifestyle. So many extended family members tried to expose what the brothers endured. They should both be released while their truth comes out.
