Thank God For Locals Who Help When You Travel
Traveling can often be a mixed bag of exhilarating experiences and unexpected challenges. In the latest video, Thank God For Locals Who Help When You Travel, traveler Gabriel Morris shares a compelling story from his journey through India. His mission was straightforward: navigate from Solan to Chandigarh. However, what seemed like a simple task quickly morphed into a bit of a struggle as he found himself grappling with the local taxi scene.
Just as frustration began to set in, a local stepped in to lend a hand, exemplifying the kindness that often characterizes the very best of travel experiences. This encounter not only helped Gabriel reach his destination but also highlighted the invaluable role locals play in making our travels smoother and more enjoyable.
Accompanied by a captivating soundtrack that includes tracks like “Stories From India” and “You Gotta Save Me,” the video offers more than just practical travel tips; it serves as a reminder of the human connections forged on the road.

I spent 4 months backpacking around India in 2001 – my experience was that the further you got from the big cities and the regular tourist trail, the nicer and friendlier the people got.❤
There you are.. when you don’t post for a few days I get r worried something happened to you haha
i bet Harald Baldr is watching
👍
I am landing in Kochi tomorrow evening, then taxi to Alleppey to take a houseboat on the backwaters there for two nights, and then head for Varkala after that 😎
"There is always more to see in India." True words
I really hope you get to travel to Spiti valley in future.
Wow Mumbai will be a surprise because it's changed a lot since the 1990's. There's so much development and traffic can be challenging. I felt sorry for Uber drivers, took one to compare gateway to India from where I was staying, around 10 km and only cost me 750 rupees and took him 1 hours and forty minutes 😮
Using my extra hour from daylight savings time to catch up on India travels and plan annual trip to Glen Ellen’s Jack London State Park. India doesn’t observe daylight savings time. Glen Ellen is so close to Willets, but I don’t remember Gabriel ever doing walk and talk hike there. It’s my favorite time to go up there as after the rains there should be mushrooms 🍄🟫 appearing.
I am not sure if you have heard about it , but there’s a very beautiful winter trek to Kedar Kantha that you can plan from here.
Visit Northeast India too
You should do a tour of the Forts of Maharashtra. Great time to visit.
Glad to see you like the Zepplin.
Round Bed seems small for you.
This city in Punjab is truly beautiful; it is a magnificent place. Its layout is lovely, and I have spent many days here.
Wow! I have to admit that the place you visited is pretty s as mazing.
If you come to Manali let me know I would love to meet up ❤
You have to go to a stand. Or booked through your hotel.
In Chandigarh I stay in Sector 19. There is a wonderful boutique hotel. Go to the Rock Garden. It’s fantastic! Don’t go on a weekend! OMG! I’m missing India! The northern part of India is my home away from home!
That Rock garden was pretty cool, looked in places like the walls of a castle. Safe Travels Gabe 🙂
What a good man chilling with the school kids. Very cool. Brought me a huge smile!
Nice to see Chandigarh again after this many years. I was there 2 times some months apart in 2010! 😊
Much the same, city centre maybe a bit more colorful now.. 👍🏻
We came by bus the first time, and went to Rock garden and sector 17.
Second time we rode in at night on our Royal Enfields, for a quick layover on our trip back to Rishikesh!
Incredible India! ❤
Wow Le Corbusier designed that city??
There are Kanheri caves (not sure if the spelling is right) but yeah they're near Mumbai. A must visit place as well.
There are lots of places to see in Chandigarh, do check out the sukhna lake, Government Museum and Art Gallery, Le Corbusier Centre (Sector 19 B), Panjab University (Sector 14) and my personal favourite- "Indian Air Force Heritage Museum Chandigarh, Sector 18"
Greedy rich lives in this country

The last place you were at in the video is the best looking place I’ve ever seen when you are in India. My mouth was open the whole time.
In which city will you be celebrating the festival of Diwali?
I looked up recipes for masala omelettes, so intrigued 😂
❤
Gabriel you should visit eastern and central India…
You know you are traveling a lot when you don't even know how to say the name of the place you are at 😅. I enjoy.your videos but I have a sincere question, is there a goal/purpose in your travels? Is it to see as much as possible and to cover the most ground? Are you in a hurry?
There is a wonderful opportunity for you in Tawang Monastery – lots going on since the arrival of Buddha’s relics from Delhi. All kinds of unique cultural experiences happening there and such a blessing to be there HVP5+M3X, Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh 790104
32:00 The street musician is playing the Ravanahatha said to be the ancestor of the violin. The tune is so familiar but I can't recall.
From Mumbai go to Goa and from there to Lakshadweep islands as you never been there.
