Grizzly Bears Addicted to Rubbish | Animals With Cameras | BBC Earth
Usually solitary animals, brown bears have been found congregating and tolerating each other for just one reason: to eat rubbish. In a shocking new video from BBC Earth’s ‘Animals With Cameras’ series, these bears can be seen rummaging through human leftovers and waste in search of a meal. Unfortunately, this unhealthy habit can have serious consequences for the animals, with metal and plastic often being ingested along with their food.
The footage captured by wildlife cameraman Gordon Buchanan sheds light on the impact of human waste on wildlife. By placing cameras on these bears, scientists and conservationists are able to observe the behavior of these animals up close and gain valuable insights into their lives.
This groundbreaking series not only reveals the extent of the bears’ reliance on rubbish but also highlights the importance of conservation efforts to protect these vulnerable creatures. With their natural habitat disappearing and human activity encroaching on their territory, it is more important than ever to address the issue of waste management and its impact on wildlife.
BBC Earth’s mission is to showcase the beauty and wonder of the natural world, but also to raise awareness about the challenges that animals face in today’s world. Through powerful storytelling and stunning visuals, ‘Animals With Cameras’ provides a unique glimpse into the lives of some of the planet’s most fascinating species.
As we witness the struggles of these grizzly bears addicted to rubbish, it serves as a reminder of the urgent need for conservation and sustainable practices to ensure the survival of these magnificent creatures for generations to come.

One man's trash is another bear's… uh… food.
Why is the garbage not recycled? What country is this?
Hungry hungry bears… greedy thoughtless humans…
Plus all the chemicals
ONLY BBC EARTH <3
Bears are like homeless people trying to find whatever scraps of food are left. Even the fat, juicy maggots!
I think they're doing a great job helping speed up the decomposition of leftover food!
Bear are hungry at night for food and people are wacthing
To humans, it’s trash. To the bears, it’s a buffet!🤤🤤🤤🤤🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻
God loves you and cares for you so that this message reaches you. God is the one who created this large universe and controls it completely. The greatest loss a person loses in this life is that he lives without knowing God who created him and knowing the Messenger of Muhammad, the last of the messengers, and the Islamic religion, the last of the heavenly religions. Great intelligence, before you believe in something or not, is to read it, study it, and understand it well, and after that you have the choice to believe in it or not to believe in it. I advise you to do this now, before you no longer have time to do so. Life is very short. It is just a test, just a passage to eternal life. Great advice to those who… Understands
All Bears are Intelligent Opportunist.
They know how to open car doors, doors at homes and businesses.
Food and curiosity is their motivation.
Same.
If anyone is interested, this was filmed around the Sarıkamış Forest Allahuekber Mountains National Park, Turkey.
This is unfortunate. They truly don't deserve this treatment. 😞 This is unacceptable. As human beings, we should feel ashamed for what we've done to this planet. 🌍 I feel deep compassion for these creatures. 🐾❤
Goodness me
This problem should be fix by tbe government of that country! The bears are poisoning themselves! Unacceptable for ppl not to recycle
Çağan hodja…
While disgusting and unsafe, it sure beats waiting for hours and hours for prey to catch

I am tired of these inappropriate headlines. Bears aren’t addicted to rubbish. They’re eating it because that is likely all that’s available to them since we have encroached upon their habitats and depleted the supply of natural healthy food that should be available to them ….and undoubtedly they would prefer.
As imagens …são tão explícitas o menu é perigiso e os ursos comem plástico …o maior poluente do planeta!!
What have we done to this planet, such a sad site bears 🐻 eating rubbish 😢 if they find a town they'll be in every bin and lives could be lost
Those are some nice thermal cameras. So crisp and clean.
🐻 This habit not only affects their health but also takes away their natural instinct to find food. Hopefully, this video helps us better understand the impact of waste on wildlife and inspires us to take action to protect their natural habitats! ♻🌍
This Is Nature Life💚.
these thermal cameras are incredible
Interessantes video. Gruss Jürgen 🤠
