My parents bought a haier fridge 15 years ago, last year it stopped working. The Motherboard had to change, and it works fine again now. The workers who fixed it said that its really good quality.

I bought a fancy looking LG refrigerator 5 years ago, last year right in summer, the ice maker stopped working, soon freezer quit on me, called LG customer service, was told the compressor was no longer under warranty, WTF?! So I had to rush to buy a new one, I picked GE this time, hope this thing can last more than 5 years 🤣
Haier has learned a great deal. Once you have owned an appliance from this brand, you won't want to buy any other brand again.

What's wrong with that? During its early stages, the US did the exact same thing, buying foreign companies and intellectual property then rebranding them as 'American products.'

And nowadays appliances are designed to fail within 3 yrs. Consumers get less dependable products and have to keep replacing them constantly. We don't need obscure, whiz bang features like 16 different washer settings. We want something that will last decades. Of course that means they sell less units so the consumers need to vote with their wallets.
My brand new GE fridge has a broken modem that won't let it connect to the wifi. I don't miss it at all. I don't need everything to be connected. It takes infinitely more time to figure how to use and maintain everything than any benefits it provides.
