Harare: Zimbabwe’s Capital of Chaos, Wealth, and Survival
In the heart of Zimbabwe lies Harare, a city that embodies a striking juxtaposition between luxury and struggle. In my latest travel documentary, “Harare: Zimbabwe’s Capital of Chaos, Wealth, and Survival,” I spent 24 hours in this vibrant, often misunderstood city to uncover its complex narrative.
As we journey through the luxurious neighborhoods of Borrowdale, where opulent mansions and high-end businesses thrive, we also delve into the bustling Mbare street markets, where the energy is relentless and survival is an everyday battle. The economic contrasts paint a vivid picture of a city alive with opportunity, yet heavy with challenges.
From the serene gardens at Bronte Garden Hotel to the lively Harare Central Business District (CBD), each location reveals a piece of Harare’s identity. Our exploration includes iconic spots like Africa Unity Square and the captivating Shona Sculptures, all of which offer insight into the cultural heartbeat of this remarkable city.
This documentary aims to challenge preconceived notions perpetuated by Western media by showing the real-life experiences of its residents. Filmed with a Sony A7Siii and an iPhone 16 Pro, we capture the pulse of daily life while highlighting Harare’s unique resilience amid adversity.
Join us on this engaging journey through a city that is both rich in contrast and rich with stories. Harare may just be the most misunderstood city in Africa. Take a look, and see for yourself.

Wealthy Africans hold most of their wealth in real estate and foreign currencies in offshore banks, hence their lack of interest in changing society since they are never affected by inflation or changes in economy. Their banks cards spend euros and dollars and the exchange rate is always excellent for them.
There’s some cool cities out there.
Been waiting for this to air for sometime now

Look at Zimbabweans finessing South Africans… building a safe country while they dump their worst of the worst citizens South Africa.
On the flip side, you can see how dangerous human rights can be without human responsibilities. When law and order is not negotiable and not suggested, but enforced, public spaces can be safe.
Cant wait to see you in uganda bro to explore the beauty of the pearl
