Hezbollah Strikes Israel with Heavy Rocket Attack

Hezbollah Launches Major Rocket Attack on Israel

In a significant escalation of hostilities between Hezbollah and Israel, the militant group launched a major rocket attack on Israel in retaliation for the killing of one of its senior commanders. Israel responded with a series of strikes on Hezbollah targets across southern Lebanon.

The Israeli Air Force conducted strikes on over 40 towns and villages in Lebanon’s south, marking one of the largest sets of strikes against Hezbollah since the conflict escalated last October. The strikes were based on intelligence reports indicating that Hezbollah was planning an attack in response to the assassination of Fuad Shukr, one of its commanders, by Israel last month.

Hezbollah, in turn, claimed to have launched more than 320 Katyusha rockets at Israel, hitting 11 military targets. The exchange of fire between the two sides highlights the ongoing tensions in the region and the potential for further escalation.

The latest conflict between Israel and Hezbollah underscores the volatile situation in the Middle East and the continued threat of violence in the region. The international community remains on edge as both sides engage in tit-for-tat attacks, raising concerns of a broader conflict.
