12:55 – well guessed! It's an acronym. Κ.Ψ.Μ.( Κέντρο Ψυχαγωγίας Μονάδας). It is a place within the camps where soldiers can have fun and relax. Specifically, the ΚΨΜ (Καψιμι- kapsimi) operates as a service station with items such as food, soft drinks, tobacco products and more.
ΚΨΜ is an area for recreation in the army. So I'm guessing this is something like an old military camp
ΚΨΜ is a recreational area for a military unit where they serve refreshements and snacks the painting of the 2 naked guys carrying an older man must be Diagoras. AI answer: In ancient Greece, there is a famous story of Diagoras of Rhodes, an Olympic boxing champion, whose sons carried him triumphantly after he won a victory. This event was captured in a statue and is a well-known example of sons honoring their father.
Since you are in Rhodes you have to visit Halki Island if you are looking for a quite magical place
This is the thing about Greek islands compared to where you were before coming back to Greece you’re very unlikely to see what you can discover on the islands which I prefer to your other videos anyway great to see you back in Greece 👍🙏🏴
Hi Gabriel, I need to catch up on your videos, always a pleasure to watch 😊
At 18:32 you got it Gabriel! Turkey, one of the most aggressive, militaristic countries in the world, lies just a few miiles off Rhodes!
Greeks came from someplace else?
Distorted history
Mycenae was a city in Peloponnese.
They took part in the Trojan war.
They spoke greek
They had the same gods.
Why distort history like that?
Greece 🇬🇷 😍 Eternal Mystery 🤍💙
It's so exciting to see you back in Greece on the beautiful Islands 👍
Diagoras on the shoulders of his sons.
Greek history and civilization is a thorn in many eyes it seems.
They take it apart, one chip at a time…
"Meceanians were not Greeks"
"Macedonians were not Greeks"
"Minoans were not Greeks "
Pretty sure they will say that Greeks never existed.
So much envy…
Yeah Greeks came from somewhere else.
It is called Andromeda back many millennia…
Wikipedia handlers cannot stand the glory that has been Greece.
11:30 I prefer when you call out here bear😂😂😂
That water is so amazing 😍🤩
Abandoned army barracks. The insignia depicting Diagoras of Rhodes on the shoulders of his sons is the insignia of 95 ΑΔΤΕ, the National Guard Supreme Command of Rhodes.
Thanks to Gabriel, I have seen beaches that I would never have seen otherwise.
Grateful to our friend for his travels
Have a great time in Ellada, Gabe! Tsambika Church is must visit and the Castle in Rhodes town
15:21 The picture on the wall is likely a depiction of the story of Diagoras of Rhodes. The sons of Diagoras both won competitions at the Olympics in 448 BC and they celebrated their victory by carrying their father around the stadion on their shoulders.
Wow adventurous 😮😊❤
This is an abandoned military barrack. ΚΨΜ is pronounced K PS M (kapsimi, colloquial). Means Center of Entertaiment of the Unit, you can find them in every greek barrack, it's a place that soldiers can entertain themselves, have a coffee, snack, watch television etc. The painting comes froma ancient history of Rhodes, Diagoras (the clothed one) had two sons that won at Olympics (the naked ones, as the athletes were sporting in the nude) and they took their father at their shoulders in the circle of Triumph. It seen as the ultimate celebration of filial love. The reverence for the father and mother was thought as a crucial element of heigthened moral behaviour
Thank You Gabriel 🙂💙👍
