In Kenya, protests have erupted once again this week as young people take to the streets demanding the resignation of President William Ruto. The demonstrations stem from the government’s handling of last week’s protests, where 39 demonstrators were killed and over 360 were injured, according to the Kenya Human Rights Commission.
President Ruto has defended the actions of the police, stating that they did nothing wrong. However, this response has only fueled the determination of the protestors, who are more resolute than ever to see change in their government.
Mariel Müller reports from Nairobi on the ground, capturing the anger and frustration of the Kenyan youth as they continue to fight for justice and accountability. With each passing day, the protesters’ voices grow louder and their demands clearer, as they refuse to back down until their calls for change are answered.
