Jason Isaacs Says ‘The White Lotus’ Drama Is ‘None Of Your Business’

In the aftermath of “The White Lotus” Season 3 finale, Jason Isaacs is setting the record straight on reports of on-set drama.

“Like anywhere you go for the summer, there’s friendships, there’s romances, there’s arguments, there’s cliques that form and break and reform and stuff like that. I’m careful,” Isaacs said on an April 9 episode of SiriusXM’s “The Happy Hour.” “I’m not stupid. I look at the Internet.”

The comments came after Isaacs described the set to Vulture as “a cross between summer camp and ‘Lord of the Flies’ but in a gilded cage.” Mike White has also made comments against the composer after a creative clash over the season’s music.

“Nobody has the slightest clue what they’re talking about,” Isaacs said. “People who think they’re onto something, and it then gets magnified because of a thousand other people. Nobody has any clue.”

Of his comments to Vulture, Isaacs clarified: “First of all, it’s none of your business. I’m just saying it wasn’t a holiday, and partly I started saying that because people think we were on a seven-month holiday, and believe me, it felt like work a lot of the time. It was insanely hot and there’s all the normal social tensions you get anywhere.”

Earlier in the season, Isaacs made headlines after appearing on “CBS Mornings” and describing the “double standard for men” when being asked about full-frontal nudity. “But when women are naked, Margaret Qualley as well, in ‘The Substance,’ nobody would dream of talking to her about her genitalia or her nipples or any of those things,” Isaacs said.

He later went on to clarify his comments, telling Variety: “I said the wrong words in the wrong way. I used the phrase ‘double standard,’ which I didn’t mean at all.”
