Ingredients

For the Cream:

  • 1 Egg
  • 150 g Sugar
  • 800 ml Milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Sugar
  • 4 tbsp Flour
  • 100 g Butter

For the Dough:

  • 200 g Butter
  • 500 g Flour
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 3 Eggs
  • 150 g Sugar
  • 3 tbsp Honey (90 g)
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 150 g Walnuts (+50 g for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cream:

    • In a bowl, combine the egg and sugar, and whisk until well combined.
    • Gradually add the milk, vanilla sugar, and flour, mixing until smooth.
    • Melt the butter and incorporate it into the mixture. Set aside.
  2. Make the Dough:

    • In a separate bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, and honey until light and fluffy.
    • Add the eggs one by one, mixing well after each addition.
    • In another bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually sift this mixture into the wet ingredients, stirring until a dough forms.
    • Fold in the walnuts.
  3. Assemble the Pie:

    • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
    • Divide the dough into two equal parts. Roll out the first part and transfer it to a greased baking pan.
    • Pour the cream mixture over the dough.
    • Roll out the second part of the dough and cover the cream layer with it. Pinch the edges to seal.
  4. Bake:

    • Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
  5. Serve:
    • Let the pie cool slightly, then sprinkle with additional crushed walnuts for garnish. Slice and enjoy!
