Los Angeles Under Curfew Amid Ongoing Protests
Los Angeles finds itself under a curfew for the second consecutive night following a week marked by significant unrest and protests centered around U.S. immigration raids. The curfew was enacted at 8:00 PM local time on Wednesday, aiming to restore order amid escalating tensions in the city.
Over the past few days, Los Angeles has seen a flurry of demonstrations as community members express their discontent with the recent immigration policies and enforcement actions. As tensions rose, several individuals were arrested for violating the curfew shortly after its implementation, highlighting the ongoing volatility in the area.
Since the protests began last Friday, nearly 400 individuals have been taken into custody, underscoring the scale of the unrest. Among those arrested, approximately 330 are reported to be undocumented migrants, while others face charges related to assault and obstruction of justice. Disturbingly, one suspect is facing attempted murder charges for an alleged attack on a police officer.
Federal authorities have intensified their response, with prosecutors charging two men for separate incidents involving the throwing of Molotov cocktails at law enforcement officers. These actions reflect the heightened level of aggression and desperation among certain protestors as tensions continue to simmer.
As Los Angeles navigates through this challenging period, the curfew stands as a stark reminder of the societal divides and the pressing issues surrounding immigration facing the nation today. Community leaders and activists are calling for dialogue and reform, while local law enforcement remains firm in their commitment to restoring peace and ensuring public safety. The situation remains fluid, with many eyes on the city as events continue to unfold.

Come legally no one fuck with you
If you don't understand, ask: Americans always talk about human rights being above sovereignty. So, may I ask, where does the law stand in relation to human rights and sovereignty? Can it be inferred from this that anyone can ignore the existence of the law because human rights are above everything? Is my understanding correct?
Hmm peaceful now, wonder why?
These hard working people being yanked and detained are also responsible for paying Billions in taxes a year. Quote: " Undocumented immigrants paid $96.7 billion in federal, state, and local taxes in 2022." (It's over a 100 Billion now) So who's going to end up making that loss up once you deport all of them? Time for Congress to push that immigration bill through right now instead of using it for Campaign BS every single term.
Why are these protests but what’s happening in Ballymanna is riots ???
Bullshit propaganda channel
Trump is still a criminal himself, and belongs in a mental unit himself not the people protesting!
Peaceful protesters…!?
So what was wrong with the car wash incedent? They entered the country knowing it was illegal, they're criminals.
Don’t forget we don’t know where they are sending these people … El Salvador torture camps, Libya … we cannot stand by and let this criminal regime kidnap and disappear our neighbors. We keep us safe. The law is now the enemy to the people.
These are riots. Not protests. They are illegal aliens, not 'immigrants'.Use the correct terms BBC.
To all you trump lovers, you
It does not matter your political affiliation. Supporting Gestapo-like tactics of arresting and deporting or detaining people without due process is an obvious abuse of power, undemocratic, anti-constitutional, and fascistic.
Someone in the country for 30 years is an American, and the fact they are arresting people at work is a new type of low. If the issue is truly because they came here illegally then fine them, give them a time frame with pay it off say 10K and you give them 1 year, after that, you give them residency, and then citizenship.
Curfews are not required for peaceful protest. These are left wing organised and well planned riots. Evidently the rioters are being paid to turn out. What is the difference between this and Jan 6? Woeful lack of leadership from Newsom. Who in their right minds would want to grow a business in San Francisco and LA? These are people who are destroying their communities and like Minneapolis previously the businesses never return. Wait for the announcement from Target, JP Penney, etc that they are leaving.
How is it your calling this a protest and the same thing in Northern Ireland a riot?
Donald trump is deporting illegal immigrants,by your logic it’s legitimate to destroy the place and call it a protest.
Yet Northern Ireland has illegal immigrates committing terrible crimes again…and I don’t agree with attacking police..but you’re calling that a riot??
What’s the difference?
Is it because you can’t understand that anyone but white people commit crime?
I think the issue with trump is unlike other presidents, he entirely isolates the people who didn’t vote for him. Most presidents act as a leader to all Americans, not just the people in their party. He doesn’t care. If you speak against him you’re a criminal/terrorist.
The land of the free 😂😂
Guess Trump isn't looking to build anymore hotel's or golf course's, so he doesn't think he needs the immigrants!
Its interesting that they call a protest in which no one died a riot. Last time i checked, there needs to be a threat of death for a reaction to "prevent death" as trump said
Why are these formerly peaceful not called riots? They’re riots. BBC & other UK news outlets labelled the Ballymena riots because they’re riots, what’s the difference?
I'm a born again Christian mexican fom Texas, also a Trump supporter, making this one short and sweet, all these people who acting like they are there for the mexicans from mexico, go live in mexico and see if they will be there for you'll and see if thiere president is going to step in for you when the cartels try to control you and your families they won't do it, so why are you'll bieng ignorant? 😇🇺🇸🙏🙏🙏🙏
30 years and he never tried to apply for citizenship?
Majority of the so called “immigrants” in L.A., are Mexicans, but actually they aren’t “immigrants”, because they are living in California, Texas, New Mexico, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, those are Mexican States. The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo in 1848 guaranteed the rights of Mexican citizens living in those territories to become U.S. citizens or return to Mexico, and their property rights were also protected.
Anyway, with or without Treaty, Mexicans HAVE the RIGTH to go to live in to those states or come back to the other Mexican states, whenever they want. So better for everybody to live in peace.
This is it. The dems have let the toddlers with toddler behavior run the streets for too long. Time to arrest everyone with antisocial behavior.
Why they flying Mexican flags this is America . If you love Mexico go back .😄
They’re going after illegals, not immigrants. Stop the sob stories
Wokes losing it as usual
