Stocks on Wall Street took another hit today as recession worries continue to plague investors. President Trump attempted to reassure the public, pushing back against fears of an economic downturn as tariffs come into effect. However, the ongoing federal workforce cutdown is set to hit the education department hard, as it prepares to be slashed in half.
The uncertainty in the economy has once again rattled the stock market, with investors feeling the pressure of a potential recession looming ahead. President Trump’s efforts to downplay these concerns have not been enough to ease the nerves of Wall Street.
The education department is bracing for significant cuts as part of the federal workforce reduction, adding to the challenges faced by the sector. With budget constraints and staffing reductions, the impact on education programs and services could be substantial.

Trump’s tariff recession is coming, placing tariffs on goods coming from all the countries the US trades with. The market will react quickly by the sell-off of stocks and another day of crashing stock prices.

It seems to me that the tariffs are used, not for the policy purposes, but forthe stock price manipulation
It seems that Trump only knows one word, and that is – tariff, I know that he is uneducated but, please throw in some other word to make it seem that you are average.

While y'all are arguing and commenting here, which is all good, lookout for your health insurance which is going to go up as much as 75% by December…and Trump does not have clear and specific plans to keep health care affordable. This is beyond your or my politics imo.
I would feel bad if the DOE was doing a good job. Student education was better before the bureaucrats got their fingers in it.
A quick look aluminum numbers and even though we recycle over 3 million tons, we only produce 860,000 tons a year and import 4.80 million tons. America has 6 smelters. America's infrastructure is not ready for level of manufacturing that's trying to be pushed onto us. Instead of tariffs, we should be allowing tax credits for manufacturing facilities to be built before we tax what we buy. This will just lead to more corporate greed because American companies will most likely raise their prices to be more "competitive" with imported products because they can't increase their production overnight.
He is messing up everything and he doesn't know anything about politics
I don't see a benefit for a shutdown, they can already fire who they want
For the ones celebrating the end of the Department of Education:
The DoE has nothing to do with the syllabus or how subjects are taught, but with financing. In old times, there were better rates because it was about fewer kids going to private schools; now is about all kids going to all schools.
Destroying the DoE harms kids in inner cities, small towns, kids with disabilities – poor kids that will be abandoned, talented kids in the Appalachia who won't have a chance to become VP.
And while Elon & Co. enjoy importing educated workers paying them less than to Americans, Trump & Co. enjoy their poorly educated base, unable to realize how they are being constantly scammed with misinformation and slogans.
Have you ever googled stuff?
