I’m so excited to one day go back to Paris and see that beloved Cathedral in all its pristine glory! Thank you architects, artisans, builders, sculptors, restorers, and donors! Buildings like this must be preserved!
The French president is a HIPOCRIT, he already forgot the PAGAN ceremony at the Olympics !!!!!
Awesome.
❤❤
So many people suffering but hey, they fixed up the old church ….
So happy to see the Cathedral is renovated and getting ready for prayers and the holy communion 🙏🙏❤❤
A Billion Dollars from privet donations…
How much did the Trillion dollar Catholic Church (Corporation) invest back into reconstruction…?
Just asking…
Yes, the decision to recreate this amazing building exactly as it was was "wisdom." Film doesn't do it justice. I was there in 2012. You can't appreciate it until you step inside. It's breathtaking! "For the glory of God and France!" Amen.
“…for the glory of God and France.” ❤
Emmanuel Macron is the beast rising from the land. He now is in the house of the Lord. Wake up everyone!
Still my favorite building term- buttrice
Proud of the Mexican Architect Alejandro Arredondo who helped rebuild this. 🇲🇽❤️🇫🇷
As we are only days away from the catherdral reopening, it is a sad footnote that General Georgelin passed away before he could see the completion of this great task that had been appointed to him. Thank you General and all the craftsmen and workers who had a hand, both large and small, in saving this beautiful ediface.
it's quite notorious from the Word that Jesus Christ came to this world to change the Law after his Resurrection! ANYTHING ON THE CONTRARY IS FALLACY!
No mention of the lovely "asylum seeker" who burnt it down. The fire destroyed priceless artifacts and paintings. All lost forever. Diversity is our greatest strength.
I am so very happy the rebuilt it. However, this is not giving us a view of what they actually did! I want to see the what before & the now, Thank you! And of course the decay of this was already underway. Sort of like the rest of France! Decay is Truly an ongoing thing in France in Structures & All Else! We saw some of that we were allowed to see during the Olympics!
Wood is obviously not the way to go if it caught fire.. just my 2 sheckels
We went there for my parents 25th anniversary in 2017 never seen anything like it goosebumbs throughout.
Its the house of Mother Mary. Disappointing report from sixty minutes.
Amazing save ❣️🥰❤️🙏
a pity there is no photos of the new spire!
What a beautiful thing
DEUS VULT. Notre Dame stands!
No, not to the glory of France.
It's to the glory of the Living, Almighty God!
God bless France for the fortitude and courage to rebuild the old lady. It will go down as one of the world’s greatest modern achievements. I remember almost crying when I saw it burning, because I knew it could never be rebuilt. Thank you, France, for proving me wrong.
MVEMENT -😜🤪😝🤑👿 GOTT
An illegal worker started the fire..by “accident”
May The Flames Of Notre Dame Be A Metaphor With The Failure And Corruption Of Religion.
The fire felt very tramatic for me here in the USA.
The fake journalists at 60 minutes of BS didn’t mention the cause of fire (muslims) and didn’t mention once that Notre Dame is a Church for the glorification of the Words of Jesus Christ.
As a student of architecture, That spire has always bugged me. I was hoping they would leave it out this time.
Risky..very risky when renovating a very old structure. It holds ENERGY within the cavities from under ground to the highest point from its earliest days of construction. The materials sourced for the build are significant as they had come from a particular time / cycle the Earth was . .
The same or similarly materials is warranted for renovation . . but the building/ structures ENERGY has married and settled under greater forces and loads . . This process is absolutely unique, again of its time. Any variation is a potential threat some ENERGIES DO NOT MIX WELL .
FRICTION ~ TEMP differences and worst outcomes. . . Fire
Unfortunately we are far to emotional and clingy to structures. They must be 'let – go – of' allowed to crumble give them an end . Natural
I'm so poroud that the West understands this as a powerful moment of appreciation of our collective culture.
What I don't appreciate myself is that I was not ever positive this, and other cathedral fires were not Islamic arson.
I think they hiding this, but I cannot prove it.
Thank God the traditionalist won the consensus. To let some architect add their own modern twist to stroke their ego would have been a disgrace. Plenty of modern buildings around, but there's only one Notre Dame.
Jesus would have said: What purpose is this rebuilding meant for? the millions of euros spent on rebuilding a grandiose cathedral would have served a lot of good if it was spent to the millions of people that are homeless, the poor, the afflicted and the helpless, as is written in the Bible.
2:23 Gen Georgelin died in an accident last year and unfortunately never saw the project completed.
Hopefully 60 Minutes didn't edit/splice what these people actually said. It's what this "program" is known for now. Their history of low integrity includes Dan Rather and Lara Logan.
The last time a politician spoke in that Cathedral was during the French Revolution of 1798, when they chose to elevate "Reason" as their deity, replacing the worship of God. Now, nearly 300 years later, the Cathedral still stands, almost as new—but where are the French people, and what remains of their faith in God?
Did the Catholic Church erode their faith through its history of persecution, exemplified by the horrific St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre, where 80,000 Protestants were slaughtered in a single night? Or did they perhaps discover the God for whom those Protestants were willing to sacrifice their lives, choosing conviction over the fleeting promise of peace?
I maybe an atheist but I felt may dismay and upset could almost be equal to Paris. I was fortunate to see this Gothic marvel during 1999, while enjoying the train experience Waterloo to Paris. I digress. I'm genuinely happy to see the restoration of all that was and is this stunning cathedral. Seeing how they rebuilt the roof, just shows the majesty of the ingenuity of the original builders. To ignore anything of religious symbolism, is to ignore our history, our passion, dedication to something bigger than ourselves, to ignore our humanity. Bravo! This humble New Zealander and artist is in genuine awe of France and their dedication to their history and this simply beautiful Gothic Cathedral that is Notre Dame. ❤ 🇫🇷 😊
Great decision to just rebuild it as it was.
It is a marvel of gothic engineering.
My mother worked for the US Embaasy immediately after WWII at dinners she was asked repeatedly, "what took America so long?…ponder that….and here Americans helped fund the restoration.
This 60 Minutes Report rings hollow because it was sanitized of anything that had to do with Christianity and the identity of the French People.
or what exactly does "Notre Dame" (the French phrase that translates to "Our Lady") which is the French title for Mary, the mother of Jesus means to the French people.
Makes me sick to hear Trump, the person least bothered by the remarkably human and Catholic feeling of guilt, will be there for the re-opening. No doubt he will push his way to be the first in the door.
❤Jesus is God ✝️
I like the church is cleaned look more white and brighter now. Anyways it will be faded and dark as years pass. Love the modern installations
April 15th (1912) is when the Titanic sank.
It's something truly extraordinary!
I had never seen such a large shopping center, with the shape of a cathedral!
Yes, ok, the renovation took 700 million euros (at least from what was officially declared) but it's all money that will pay off in a big way!
Between relics to be adored, exhibitions, offerings to the saints, paid masses, solemn masses, weddings, royal celebrations, and visits by millions from all over the world, the Mega Shopping Center will be a huge success!
"the people's palace?" Notre Dame is a Catholic Cathedral. Were the words "catholic", "christian", "religion", "Christ"…..mentioned in this story? "God" got a shout out at the end.
I'm glad they kept the original design and not add anything contemporary. When I was in France for the Olympics, I saw some of the concept drawings at the museum of architecture that they proposed. They were so gaudy. Notre Dame would've looked like a Vegas casino.
I was there before the fire and the restored church is an amazing achievement. For me, the Cathedral is also a reminder of a religion that no longer exists. The French Revolution was punishment from God for the King's apostasy. His head was chopped off. What replaced the Catholic religion was the Novus Ordo false church ruled by Satan from Rome.
