In January 1991, following Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm was launched against Iraqi ground forces to liberate Kuwait. General Schwarzkopf, who commanded American-led coalition forces crushed Iraqi defense positions with various military technologies using a modern blitzkrieg strategy that routed Saddam Hussein’s Iraqi Army. The results were the biggest tank battles since WWII.
1. Kuwait 00:00
The war really begins from the moment Saddam Hussein, the president of Iraq, launches his troops into Kuwait. These are spearheaded by 100,000 of his republican guard. Supported by helicopter gunships, armored personnel carriers, mobile artillery and tanks.
2. Arsenal 56:34
As domestic markets shrink, nations worry about sustaining their defense industries by selling technologies abroad. Countries such as the United States and most European nations continue to develop new weapons as insurance against an uncertain future.
3. The Iraq War 01:47:40
Precision airstrikes have become the big stick of international relations. When diplomacy fails and military action is chosen, the missile armed strike aircraft is at the center of combat. Many nations deploy advanced jet aircrafts and high-tech missiles, but only one has the broad range of technologies and forces to deploy such weapons on a global scale, the United States.
4. Air Assault 02:39:40
In the early morning hours of the 17th of January 1991, coalition air forces unleashed a massive air assault on Iraqi forces in both Iraq and Kuwait. The magnitude of the coalition air offensive dealt a crushing blow to Iraq’s air defense network.
5. Desert Shield 03:38:14
With the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait a great confrontation began. A host of forces around the world were deployed against the Iraqi army. This video ordinance program looks at the weapons of operation Desert Shield.
6. Tools of War 05:09:07
February 24th 1991, coalition forces launched a massive ground assault against the Iraqi army units occupying Kuwait. In less than 100 hours a substantial portion of the fourth largest army in the world was destroyed and Kuwait liberated.
7. Rolling Power 05:54:22
The basic combat formation of the modern land army is the division. Divisions contain all of the elements needed to wage land combat including infantry, armor, artillery and other supporting arms. Divisions are substantial in size from 10,000 to 20,000 troops, nearly 500 armored vehicles and 2000 other vehicles.
8. Heavy Metal 06:45:11
The ultimate test of tank technology is the battlefield. American tanks form the sharp end of the sword in Desert Storm. The US Marine Corp was still using the old M-60 tank, although with some modifications.

How the hell did iraq think it could go up against the United States military and the coalition forces? ….idiot
This documentary is tilted operation desert shield. Many of the weapons systems covered were not used or even available during The 1st Gulf War or for many years after the signing of the armistice. The war did not technically end until 1987-98. The makers of this documentary have I feel purposely added many weapons systems just to make the documentary seem more informed.
And now we know that the T90 is a heap of rubbish and was destroyed by drones
Thanks sm, I fell asleep to this
I watched it until i fell asleep 😴
Thats all bs. Iraq sent a diplomat to the US state department and told them they were going to invade Kuwait and they said its your country do what you want. Oh and then look what happened. Yeah all bs.
Sadly just another country for America and its allies to decimate and rob from. Nato and its allies are just puppets in the globalist games. Time the military woke up to all that

Britain's standing army is roughly 1/3 today than it was then and we struggled. Iraq had only 140K troops. The war in Ukraine involves over 2 million troops and far more Hardwear but the Government is about to send troops there to fight Russia. The death toll of North Korean troops was 80% out of 40K troops. And they were battle hardened. British troops haven't fought a war for 40 years. The insanity of the UK government isn't confined to just its domestic policies. . . Trying to do a Thatcher & Blair. It will backfire for them when the death toll sky rockets.
Sounds like an infomercial not a doc.
There were no soviet ships joining the US
”The more I learn about this Saddam Hussein guy, the less I like him… he seems like he was a real jerk.”
God Protect our US WARRIORS!!!
First segmant clearly states thanks to the brits Kuwaiti people can return home .. yes you did your part but 80% of the effort was done by the americans … and we know without america no other country or coalition of countrys wouldve taken anykind of swift decisive action to free Kuwait… and right now we would be paying 20$ a gallon of fuel
Outstandingly comprehensive documentary thank you.
