Long haul trucks traverse the roughest roads in all nations and are expected to do so for minimum of 10 or more years of operation. Millions of stress incidences and torsional twists and flexes over that time.
If the Cast chassis can perform that then it is a smart move.
Cast components that are anodised are more resilient to salt and de icing chemicals used on snow covered roads.
The issue is Galvanic corrosion between the cast Alloy and the steel rear chassis rails will be the big test.
