The Chainsmokers’ Frat Party Set Gets Interrupted by Police & the Duo Pays the Fines: Watch

The Chainsmokers did not let the police squash a good time over the weekend.

On Sunday (April 20), the DJ duo posted footage of themselves playing an outdoor frat party in Arizona, a gathering which law enforcement showed up to shortly after it began and warned the crowd that anyone under the age of 21 had to leave.

“Or I’m gonna start writing tickets and start arresting folks” the officer announced to the people in attendance.

In a video The Chainsmokers posted of the incident, the duo’s Alex Pall notes with the laugh that this announcement by the police came 45 second into the pair playing the first song, “but we paid the fine, and we’re going to get another 15 minutes,” he says. The clip then shows the crowd cheering, over which text reads that everyone is giving up of “for Alex’s bank account.”

To make up for the snafu, the duo then “decided to play all the classics,” with the pair playing its 2017 hit “Closer” and some new remixes. The video ends with a party attendee presenting Pall with a homemade brew consisting of vodka, flavored water and liquid IV, all mixed up in a milk jug.

Beyond this fairly random appearance, The Chainsmokers are also in the midst of its ongoing residency at Las Vegas’ XS Nightclub. The pair will play the Hawaii edition of Palm Tree Music Festival on May 9 alongside fellow headliners Kygo, Alesso and Eric Prydz, along with club and festival dates around the U.S. and Canada over the summer.
