Summary:
In “The Man Inside,” we embark on a thrilling journey led by the timid accountant Sam Carter, portrayed by Nigel Patrick. Tired of his mundane existence, Carter concocts the daring plan to steal the opulent Tyrahna Blue diamond, a fantasy that propels him into a world of glamour and peril. As he escapes to Europe, his newfound lavish lifestyle attracts not only luxury but also danger, as a trail of clues leads the relentless detective Milo March (Jack Palance) hot on his heels.
The plot thickens as internationally-renowned jewel thief Trudie Hall, played by the iconic Anita Ekberg, enters the fray. She navigates her own motivations, seeking the diamond and the thrills that come with it. Their paths intertwine as Trudie, with a certain charm, persuades Carter to join her in fleeing to Paris, setting the stage for a tantalizing game of cat-and-mouse.
The film expertly weaves romance and crime, as Trudie’s intentions blur between love and self-interest. This duality culminates in a gripping climax when she deceives Carter, claiming the diamond for herself only to hand it over to Milo in a trade for a wedding ring. This twist not only questions the nature of trust but also leaves viewers pondering the essence of true desire.
“The Man Inside” masterfully combines elements of thriller and romance, showcasing the brilliance of its cast and the keen direction of John Gilling. It stands as a captivating tale of ambition, betrayal, and the thirst for exceptional life beyond the ordinary.

Anthony Newley, who played the driver, was a famous songwriter as well as an actor. He wrote Pure Imagination from Willy Wonka. What Kind of Fool am I by Sammy Davis Jr. Feelin Good sung by Nina Simone, and a ton of other great songs. He was married to Joan Collins.

Horrid film…
9:55 — Umm…is that supposed to be in NYC? 💂♂️🇬🇧
2:26 — Just take a look at how SANE everyday people on the street appeared…no freaks, no visible tattoos, and face piercings, no obscenely skin-tight leggings, no loud-mouthed morons, no cannabis shops at every corner, no fentanyl-induced homeless zombies…it now seems incredible that there was really ever such a world…
Donald Pleasance portrays the best Himmler I have ever seen on screen. The resemblance is uncanny!
10:25 Throw mama from the train

6.08…best scene. There's a TWA Constellation at the Wroughton Science Musem collection in Wiltshire.and….Jack Palance: .. who can forget.. " what have you heard Shane? "
Very bad film, the plot is ridiculous and the acting is awful.
I love looking up actors and actresses that I know nothing of because it is usually a learning experience! Anita Ekberg entered the Miss Universe contest at age 19 (at her mother's urging) and was a runner-up. What I didn't realize is that Universal Pictures was the sponsor of the event – promising a six-month studio contract for winners and runners-up. This gave them a salary, room and board, and studio-sponsored lessons in singing, acting, and dancing. It seems Ekberg was a bit of a rebel and skipped many of the lessons – having her contract cancelled after six months – and doing it her way!!
…Plus,Produced by Irving Allen AND(before their split, obviously)Cubby Broccoli!!
Wow! Anthony Newley AND Donald Pleasance in supporting roles!!😮
I always liked Jack Palance, he's not only a good actor but he makes me feel handsome!
Anita Ekberg, the queen of the fifties "sweater girls." She had pride of place on my bedroom wall as an oversexed sixteen year old!
Cinemascope picture, but not letterboxed. B.S.
A classic movie with depth. You forget what an accomplished, intriguing actor Jack Palance is.
Was the man playing the music box with the monkey Donald Pleasance?
Sid James as a NY cop.
Now I've seen everything…!
A real life tough guy that continues to be knocked down!
Pas de sous titrage sorry not for me
They would have it all on video
Yet another cool classic to add to your repertoire.
