In the latest video from Gone With the Wynns, titled “What Happened To Our New Catamaran?”, Jason and Nikki Wynn take us behind the scenes at the HH Catamarans factory in Cebu, Philippines for their first round of warranty repairs on their new boat, CURIOSITY. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as expected.
The boat wasn’t in great shape, many of the jobs weren’t completed, and not all the work done was up to the standards they were hoping for. This is the first finished boat that HH has worked on at their new factory in Cebu, so it was a bit of a bumpy road for everyone involved.
However, HH has assured Jason and Nikki that they stand behind their product and their customers. The Cebu factory now has new management, new systems, additional experts, and new training programs in place to ensure that all future work meets the high standards HH is known for.
After a stressful and expensive five plus weeks of living out of hotels, Jason and Nikki are happy to be back in their home and preparing for their next big passage. They are grateful to share their journey with their Curiosity Crew and are looking forward to what lies ahead.
Join Jason and Nikki Wynn as they navigate the challenges of warranty repairs and continue to cultivate curiosity in their lives and in the world around them. Stay tuned for more adventures and behind-the-scenes looks at life on the water with Gone With the Wynns.

Disappointing for such an expensive boat😢
Your words may be sugar coated but your expressions say everything – looks like they damaged more than they fixed and heaven only knows how it took them 38 days to fix very little! Very poor service indeed
????!!!!
You guys are so patient with all the frustrations. 👍
Thanks for sharing your experience and for your honesty. Your attitude serves as a good example for the rest of us.
ah, you're being waaaayyyyy too generous with the manufacturer. they fell down. period. hopefully they will make it right.
Every person’s nightmare is tackling a big project home improvement contractors come to first in my mind.. new new boats cars rv or anything new new… but now you’re hear chin up and handle the contractor issues with tolerance and understanding…. But as you know … the internet 🛜 can be powerful to get that message across …as the contractors also know
4:10PM east coast time, this video is #16 on trending!
Chineseum boat 🫠🫠🫠
Well, that was a depressing episode.
WOW…but it seems like everything is working out for the best.
Looking pretty thin, Nicky. Waiting to hear more.
I recently installed a crap tonne of solar on my house here in NZ with Tesla batteries and the like. It’s a massive set up that we were told would see us exporting more to grid than we consumed. And you guessed it, the solar isn’t performing to the sales pitch. On spec it is working well, but as it turns out solar is really only as good as the weather. On the best days in summer it hit 70kw generated from a 130kw system. In winter we hsve days as low as 6kw generated on rainy days and roughly 15-30kw at best on cloudy days. It’s a frustrating game this solar thing. The purported remedy is more batteries and perhaps thst will help us but in the end I suggest that solar on paper is always best case and what we should all consider is that it will (in reality) perform significantly worse than the spec and the stated modelling because when it ain’t sunny, it ain’t working. We can watch the Tesla app live and if a cloud passes over the system drops massively in output. You’ve basically got to be in the sunniest place on earth to max it out. Which means you kids will have to get an extension for more panels or load up some more batteries……. Particularly if you intend to sail to places where cloud cover is frequent.
Sorry to learn about your busted new boat. I'm confident HH will eventually get everything corrected. If not, I'm sure you could sell your vessel and run out and purchase another. Based on your lifestyle, you appear to possess considerable financial resources.
You handle it well when subjected to universal zap of "reality vs expectations".
Appreciate the update on your new H&H catamaran. Hopefully they are learning a ton of lessons through your build and make it right in the long run!
Man that is such a poor show on your new boat. Genuinely so disappointed for you that the design and performance is so bad. I really hope that the company does something dramatic to sort this out. Like others have said sailing Zataras approach of upgrading their older vessel and a better the devil you know….. HH hasn't performed well here. Neither really has the experience of other sailing crews like la Vagabond
Thanks for this update. You are far more reasonable in this situation than I would be. Hopefully calm, blue waters await with months of trouble-free sailing.
Imagine if you didn’t have a popular channel!?
Putting your cameras down and not filming is frankly dishonest. I understand your relationship with HH, but you have a duty to let people know exactly what is going on with the boat. Showing only the positives is skewing the outcome, and it's not a good look for either you or HH. Edit: I only say "duty" because you've both chosen to document this entire process via YouTube; stopping now is not cool.
Funny how a few months ago you were singing the praises of your boat builder like you were getting the golden slipper, and now, not so much. This all sounds like you got a boat that when you turn it over it says, "Made in Taiwan." It's almost like it was destiny that you got the pig and now your getting the goat. I hope you eventually come back to a happy place.
I can't help but think,of the possibility that Nikki's migraines ,could be connected to the electo currents circulating your boat.
I hope its not
Stray current can cause health issues even if you’re not feeling the current. The human body is a big battery with electricity, electrolytes and magnetic fields. Based on the corrosion, you may consider this in your health…along with the huge emf’s and lack of grounding on the boat. I’m sure this sounds like crazy talk but do your own investigation. Good health 🙏✌️
One more thing, from what you say, they did poor work expecting you to not see it and when you caught them, they decided to fix what you found……I wonder what you'll find and if they'll fix it without problem.
Uh, no one cares. Dont you people have anything better to do with your lives than pretending to be cool???
Holding folks accountable in a respectful and professional manner, from you and the company, is really educational. Appreciate yall sharing your experiences.
As someone who has started talking to HH about a 44, I appreciate this video very much. It is a very large investment and I'll be watching their response and progress. Thank you.
So you are beta testers? xD
HH, They mean well, but the term high standards they are known for is a misnomer. The sink, the corrosion, that is a technical knowledge not a new tech. I am just blown away.
It would seem the issues are more than there should have been, yet your approach raises the bar and sets a wonderful human example of love. Not love for the problems or the fixes, but love rather than hate and disrespect. B. R. A. V. O. ‼️☑️❤️ See you next time. ✨🌊💨⛵️🏝️👙🌞✨
Nope, not worth it. Don't ever want to be a guinea pig for new and/or unproven design, manufacturing facilities etc. etc. Good luck
Enjoy Cebu there’s much to see.. 🌴🏝️🏖️
