In a tragic incident in British Columbia, a cat named Joey has lost his life after being poisoned by methamphetamine. Joey had been a beloved companion to his owner, Michelle Sopczak, who had adopted him when he was just nine months old. Despite being a white cat, Joey was more than just a pet to Sopczak – he was her constant shadow, following her wherever she went.
The poisoning of Joey has left Sopczak devastated, as she mourns the loss of her cherished feline friend. It is a stark reminder of the dangers that substances like methamphetamine can pose to not only humans, but also to innocent animals who may come into contact with them.
The incident serves as a sobering reminder of the importance of being vigilant and responsible when it comes to the storage and use of dangerous substances. It is a tragedy that Joey had to pay the ultimate price for someone else’s negligence, and highlights the need for stricter regulations and education surrounding the dangers of drug exposure to pets.
As Sopczak grapples with the loss of her beloved companion, the community is left to grieve alongside her, mourning the senseless death of an innocent and beloved member of the family. Our hearts go out to Sopczak as she navigates this difficult time, and we hope that Joey’s story serves as a cautionary tale to others about the importance of keeping dangerous substances out of reach of our four-legged friends.

Pickle juice and Coca Cola tests positive for Covid.
I've grown fond of cats since being visited by one on a daily basis at the height of the lockdowns. Then a smaller one of similar breed came around which i also befriended. I later realized it was my neighbor's cats, and they were siblings. One of them continues to visit me to this day. Sadly the smaller one doesn't since it looked weaker and something may have happened to it.
There’s dope all over our streets, Justin trudeaus vision for Canada just doesn’t stop at humans, but now poor innocent animals
R.I.P. sweet prince
So many drugs on the street, literally pets OD on it. Says a lot about the state of the community
Every ndp voter is responsible for this
So sorry but keep your cat inside where it will be safe. Be responsible for your pets life! Never, ever let them outside if you actually care for them.
😢😢😢😢😢
Drugs used to be illegal, and there used to be consequences to having/buying them. The stigma DISCOURAGED a lot of people from trying them. Hard drugs are dangerous and addictive… maybe it's rocket science, but it might be easier to discourage and stop "use" before it starts rather than enabling, coddling and making it easier?
1:09 “at that point, we decided he’d been through enough” immediately cuts to the ripping of duct tape like they just put him down with duct tape.
Crying with you. ❤️❤️❤️
Canadian govt! Justin-boy! Stop killing us, our kids and our pets!
Drug must be illegal!
Angela please don't break up with Dwight for this.
Man, this is so heart wrenching and horrible. I'm so sick of hearing about drugs destroying both people and animals, more so animals since they can't say no. Deepest condolences to her for the loss of her sweet furbaby.
I am sorry for your loss
