President-elect Donald Trump has made it clear that his administration’s immigration policy will be aggressive, with promises to deport millions of immigrants who entered the country illegally. A recent estimate by the Wall Street Journal puts the cost of this plan at a staggering $315 billion – an amount that exceeds the government’s budget for many federal agencies.
Roughly 13 million immigrants are at risk of deportation under Trump’s plan, making it potentially the largest deportation operation in U.S. history. The operation would involve a complex and costly process that would span over a decade.
The plan outlined by the WSJ involves several key steps, including arrests, detention, legal processing, and removal. These steps would require significant resources and funding, with the potential for hundreds of billions of dollars to be spent on carrying out the operation.
The logistics of such a massive deportation effort are daunting, with challenges that include the need for substantial manpower and resources to locate, arrest, detain, and process millions of individuals. The funding for this operation would need to be allocated over an extended period of time, further adding to the immense cost.
As the Trump administration prepares to implement these deportation plans, the practicalities and financial implications raise concerns about the feasibility and sustainability of such a large-scale operation. The impact on affected individuals and communities, as well as the broader economic and social implications, remain to be seen as the administration moves forward with its immigration agenda.

Can't wait.
I found a loophole in U.S. immigration law, and to avoid deportation I would personally choose Indian reservations, which are exempt from federal jurisdiction.
Beyond hyped for this, but know it will not be easy.
350 billion over 10 years is actually not that much by US gov standards, take that for what you will
Elon Lex Luthor Musk has promised drastic cuts in federal government spending and I can't understand how spending trillions of dollars on deportations is going to help him achieve savings?
Instead of deporting them, why don't we just bill them towards residency, then citizenship?
They want to be here and work, let them earn it over time and the US makes some extra money, not spend it.
You are mentioning costs for this task as if this is a third world economy and couldn’t afford it , you know it’s doable
Trump’s corporation ,billionaires friends won’t allow Trump to deport too many immigrants
Wrong, he plans to remove people that have come onto US land, not the US population. Fake news.
Every penny it costs is on the current administration…. They blew the border wide open with executive orders and then stopped building the wall (and sold the materials at a loss).
In order to achieve the expected number of deportations, ICE will have to pay immigrant hunters and paid informants, making the assumptions of deportation spending only a small part of the expenses.
Dreamers have had plenty of time to do the legal process.
Why does a tent cost 16 million to build, i bet if you gave 1 million to some immigrants they'd fine a way to build it.
He can say whatever he wants. The question is why so many people believe him.
Don't care what it cost just want them outta here
..this man gonna find what looks…faster,.
3:00 All illegal immigrants HAVE committed a crime. It’s called illegally entering the USA. Our laws matter.
If I want to go to Canada or Fiji or Japan, I have to show my passport, get a visa, and if I want to stay, I have to apply for citizenship. I don’t just show up and dig in my heels.
I have compassion for people trying to find a better life- I honestly do. And I know our immigration system is broken. It shouldn’t be so arduous and expensive to legally become a citizen. But in the same token, it’s unacceptable to pretend that our laws can be ignored- and these actions must have consequences.
315billion / 13 million is almost 25k. Just pay them 24k to leave lol
Don’t deport people in the U.S. .😢 Put the paperwork in place that will allow them to be legal Us citizens ❤ 🌈👍⚜️🗽🙏💃🇺🇸💵🦅👴🏻👩
Those who think that food prices are too high now should ask themselves what effect the deportation of migrant farm workers will have. Even Bush the Younger understood that much, and he was certainly no Rhodes Scholar (remember the Guest Worker Program?). Factor in the inevitable effect of the tarriff's, and this country's future economy is looking extremely bleak. Donbo has now officially proven himself to be even dumber than Dubya.
3:59 okay- and they hired 87,000 IRS agents to stalk your personal finances. I’m all for funding ICE.
Hey uk… don’t leave the giant market with cheaper labor and lots of ppl who will buy your goods…. US: hold my beer while I light my face fire…. Morons…. Winning
All that money could raise America's average reading level from 6th grade to 7th
Muscle is cheap…intelligence cost more😂
He won't. It's bluster. He'll find enough people to deport as evidence to say he did. Besides, there are several other factors. First, his voters need those workers. Second, it will lead to inflationary wage pessures.
I can almost guarantee Trump will not deport anywhere close to what he promised. They have already said they will focus on illegal immigrants already in prison which is obviously the smartest and top priority. If they want to reduce government spending it will cost $$$ to deport every illegal immigrant. I hope they do but I don't see it happening. His entire policy promises are contradictory and will increase inflation, and the national debt. The only way to cut spending is to reduce the military or social security.
Hitler started with deportations but found out it was too expensive so… And people just carried on with their lives in denial of who they voted in too
Trump and his people have a problem because they have to deport more illegal immigrants than they have illegally crossing the US border. The assumption that they will be able to deport everyone in 10 years is wrong, as in my opinion it will take more like 100 years, due to the constant flow of illegal immigrants. Trump should change his name to Don Quixote, who fought against windmills.
Ronald Vitiello? That's Agent 47!
Canada will never be 51st state of US.
Donny’s getting old and senile.
Help us D.O.G.E, you're our only hope…
Trump's borders czar is a blockhead.
All of that… in a country that is at full employment
