A devastating fire erupted at the Silverlynn Apartments, a seniors’ living complex located in the Lynn Valley area of North Vancouver, on Saturday afternoon, leaving two individuals hospitalized and approximately 60 to 70 residents displaced. The incident unfolded rapidly, generating a significant plume of smoke that was visible across a wide section of the city.

The ferocity of the fire prompted an immediate response from emergency services. District of North Vancouver Fire Chief Mike Danks reported that more than 60 firefighters from all three North Shore fire departments were deployed to tackle the flames. Firefighters utilized every apparatus available in an all-out effort to bring the situation under control.

Despite the scale of the fire, a glimmer of good news emerged: all residents of the complex were accounted for, thanks largely to the swift action of emergency responders.
