Author Video Description
“Go Against the Flow: From Self-Doubt to Self-Worth,” is about the courage to question the life we are living and understand whether our choices truly belong to us or are shaped by fear, expectations, and the constant thought of “What will people say?” I share my personal journey of growing up with traditional expectations, building a corporate career, achieving professional success, and yet experiencing self-doubt and questioning my own identity beyond the roles I played. Through my journey into life coaching, I discovered that sometimes the biggest flow we need to go against is not the world around us, but the flow inside our own mind—our limiting beliefs, fear of failure, fear of rejection, and the need for approval.
The talk explores how our thoughts influence our emotions, decisions, actions, and eventually our patterns and reality. I share how shifting from asking “Why is my life like this?” to “What am I repeatedly doing that is creating this experience?” helped me take ownership of my life. I also redefine self-worth—not as believing that we are better than others, but as knowing that we are enough while we are still growing. Through an interactive reflection, I invite the audience to imagine a life without fear of failure, rejection, or judgment and ask themselves, “If I knew I could not fail, what would I choose for myself?” The message is that clarity is often already within us; what we may lack is the courage to trust it and turn it into action.
Ultimately, “Go Against the Flow” is not about rebelling against family, society, or the world. It is about questioning the expectations we have blindly accepted, choosing our own definition of success, setting boundaries, changing direction when necessary, and having the courage to choose ourselves. My journey was not from failure to success; it was from self-doubt to self-worth. The talk ends with a reminder that thoughts create direction, actions create momentum, patterns shape identity, and consistent actions create reality. Going against the flow is not about moving away from your life—it is about finally moving toward yourself.
