After Russian strikes on Kharkiv: US and Ukraine to hold talks in Saudia Arabia

In the wake of the recent Russian attacks on Kharkiv, tensions between the US, Ukraine, and Russia continue to escalate. America’s top diplomat, Marco Rubio, has emphasized President Donald Trump’s commitment to bringing an end to the conflict in Ukraine as soon as possible. In a call with Ukraine’s foreign minister, Rubio stressed the importance of all parties taking steps towards securing a sustainable peace.

Furthermore, President Trump is reportedly considering imposing new sanctions and tariffs on Russia following its latest assault on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. The attacks have led to at least 8 people being injured and numerous buildings being damaged in Kharkiv. The Ukrainian air force managed to intercept and destroy over 67 missiles and 200 drones launched by Russia during the overnight attack on several regions in Ukraine.

Amidst the ongoing conflict, Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy has stated that communication with Washington remains ongoing. In light of these developments, the US and Ukraine are set to engage in talks in Saudi Arabia next week in an effort to address and resolve the escalating situation.

As tensions in the region continue to rise, it is evident that diplomatic efforts are crucial in finding a peaceful resolution to the conflict. The international community will be closely watching the outcomes of the upcoming talks between the US and Ukraine, with hopes for a de-escalation of the crisis.
