Venezuela Shaken to Its Core: A Surge of Earthquakes Results in Tragedy
In a devastating turn of events, Venezuela found itself reeling from the aftermath of two powerful earthquakes that struck within mere seconds of each other on Wednesday. Interim President Delcy Rodríguez confirmed that the calamity has claimed at least 164 lives and left nearly 1,000 individuals injured.
The second of the two earthquakes, registering a formidable magnitude of 7.5, is being characterized as one of the most significant tremors the South American nation has endured in a century. The seismic activity sent shockwaves not only through the earth but also through the hearts of its citizens, as fear prompted them to flee their homes.
Buildings across Caracas crumbled under the force of the quakes, with urgent rescue operations underway to locate individuals who may remain trapped beneath the debris. As search and rescue teams mobilized, the atmosphere was charged with desperation and hope, each moment crucial for those awaiting assistance.
Witnesses described the chaotic scene as residents poured into the streets, seeking safety amidst the panic. The impact of the earthquakes is unprecedented, and the full extent of the damage is still unfolding.
Medical facilities are straining under the burden of the influx of injured individuals, leading to an urgent plea for support and resources to aid the afflicted. The Venezuelan government is coordinating rescue and relief efforts, with a focus on ensuring the safety and well-being of its citizens as they navigate the aftermath of this natural disaster.
As the nation grapples with the devastating consequences of these twin earthquakes, the resilience of its people is being put to the test. The road to recovery will undoubtedly be long and arduous, with community solidarity becoming more vital than ever in the face of such overwhelming adversity.
In the coming days, as details continue to emerge, the international community watches closely, standing ready to offer support as Venezuela seeks to rebuild after this tragedy.

Nicolas maduro was not abducted, was CAPTURED*
Where is Trump?
Idiots… instead of running you film
Time is running out very quickly now. We have a maximum of five days to rescue survivors. Aid should be provided on a global scale and coordinated by a UN crisis management team. NOW, QUICKLY, DECISIVELY!
As god allow us ~ Seriously ⁉️
❤❤❤❤❤
BBC really? You can't just keep it simple and report on the earthquakes, but sprinkle in your OPINION that "Maduro was abducted"… I'm Venezuelan, living in England so i read and hear alot of your BS reporting. Just stop ✋️
Maduro is a criminal dictator that held my birth country to ransom and all Venezuelans know he was in league with the Narco's so cut the BS. He was captured, and will stand trial.
1:38 'Abducted'? … RESTORE THE WEST!
I can't watch News anymore.
😢😢😢 வெனிசுலா மக்களுக்காக என் பிரார்த்தனைகள் 🙏🙏🙏.
Firstly rest in peace to all those lost and the best recovery possible to those who will need it.
Secondly they just took the country for oil, war in Iran all over oil, then this happens. I'm not sure if it's possible but could drilling for oil do something like this?
Praying for all the VENEZUELAN people!
As a reminder, in the aftermath of the Jan. '26 capture of Maduro & his wife, tRump cited 4 goals as justification for the incursion:
1. expanding access to Venezuelan oil
2. stemming the flow of illegal drugs
3. mitigating immigration to the US
4. democratizing the country.
To these ends, tRump asserted that the US was “going to run the country” and that its involvement in Venezuela would last “much longer” than a year or more.
– Has anyone forgotten how he dealt with Covid (>1mill. Americans died!) or how the US Commonwealth of Puerto Rico suffered after a severe hurricane?
– Is there any doubt that this Trump admin. will cause even more chaos to this tragedy?
I feel so sad for Venezuela. Economy crashes and hardships for years. And now these devastating Twin earthquakes. The poor families who will have lost a loved one❤😢❤
I would put money on the USA not lifting a finger to help.
Police corpses??😮
Don't expect any sympathy or aid from the Trump administration. There are always strings attached. He doesn't care about the human toll of this event but what he can get out of it, namely real estate. He'll make some embarrassing comment and deepen our shame that this idiot is our current leader. In times of tragedy a president should be compassionate, regardless if it's not his own country. But this is a level of humanity that Trump cannot attain.
bbc should have paid me £90000000000 to pump oil from venezuela
Could this quake be intentional? New country. New President. Maduro arrested and gone.
So many record breaking earthquakes everywhere , this is the end times
Puerto Rico was devastated as well last year by a hurricane. Remember?
It was devastated beyond belief as well.
Damn.. where I live are never earthquakes I can't imagine what's it like 😮
Absolute madness going on….
Trumps save d. Madura life
