Russia says latest strike on Ukraine was ‘response’ to use of UK and US weapons

In a recent overnight attack on Ukraine’s power grid, Russia stated that the strike was in direct response to Ukraine’s utilization of long-range US and UK weapons within Russian territory. President Vladimir Putin has warned that Kyiv’s “decision-making centres” could be targeted with Russia’s new ballistic missile.

The assault, which occurred in the early hours, has left over one million Ukrainians without power. This marks the second attack of its kind in November, with waves of drones and missiles being used in the course of the assault.

President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine has condemned the attack as a “vile escalation” of tensions between the two nations.

This latest development underscores the escalating conflict between Russia and Ukraine, with tensions running high and the threat of further hostilities looming over the region. The situation remains fluid and continues to be closely monitored by international observers.
