Passenger jet crash in Kazakhstan kills dozens, rescue efforts underway

At least 12 people have been confirmed dead and dozens more injured after a passenger jet crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan. The plane, operated by Bek Air, was carrying 98 passengers and crew members when it went down shortly after takeoff from Almaty airport.

Rescue teams are currently on site, working to recover survivors and provide medical assistance to those injured in the crash. The transport ministry has confirmed that some passengers were able to escape the wreckage on their own, while others had to be rescued by emergency personnel.
