Caught on Camera: BC Cyclist Claims Motorcyclist Pushed Him, Leading to Crash
In a disconcerting incident recently captured on camera, 78-year-old Keihachi Ishikawa, an avid cyclist from Vancouver Island, recounts a harrowing encounter with motorcyclists that left him struggling for balance and safety on the road. Ishikawa, who often rides along the scenic but less-traveled E&N Railway line, has customized his bike to navigate the rugged terrain with ease and comfort. However, his passion for cycling took a sharp turn on August 2 when he found himself in a precarious situation while returning home to Nanaimo.
According to Ishikawa, the trouble began as he attempted to make a left turn. He noticed three motorcyclists trailing behind him, a moment that quickly escalated into chaos. “I felt someone shove me on my shoulder,” he recounted, emphasizing the abruptness of the attack. As the confrontation intensified, one motorcyclist allegedly yelled at him, “Get off the F road,” before pushing him again, exacerbating the already tense situation.
The sudden push resulted in Ishikawa losing control and crashing onto the other side of the road, where he collided with the curb. The impact left him shaken and bruised, a stark reminder of the dangers that cyclists can face from aggressive drivers. The alarming incident was recorded and subsequently shared on a local Facebook page, bringing attention to the incident and sparking discussions about road safety for vulnerable users.
As the community reacts, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) have initiated an investigation into the matter. Ishikawa, now publicly sharing his experience, hopes to shed light on the often-overlooked challenges faced by cyclists, especially at the hands of reckless motorcyclists. The incident serves as a reminder of the need for mutual respect among all road users, reinforcing the importance of safety and understanding on shared roadways.

That biker is a damn lier we all seen the video he pushed that poor man 😢
It's insane how the motorcycle rider has his version of what happened knowing the video evidence contradicts his story.
The video proves that the motorcyclist is a liar.
Poor man, I'm so glad he's ok.
The cyclist need a justice.
Coward that pushing him are big liar.
Looking at the culprit motorcyclist….why am I not surprised?? He looks exactly the way he would act!
Hold on, backup. His name is Trudeau and he has a store
Yeah that biker lied.
I hope his kids apologize to the man in their derilict Dads behalf. Cause clealy this so calles man has chosen the low road morw than once. They can say, "Sorry, my Dads a lying beoch, and I'll tesrify against him in court because i am ashamed of his behavior.
Typical motorcycle rider.
it seems like this guy has tried to run people off the road before or people associated with them and his failed store
Not only the coward who pushed the senior but the other bikers didn't stop either! 🤬
Those are not minor injuries, Mr. Ishikawa is just being kind. This was assault, charges need to be pressed.
What are the police waiting for? If not for the push definitely should be arrested for that haircut
The video evidence is pretty compelling – where is Crown Counsel?
I hate MC bikers! They think they're so badass
Ebikes shouldn't be on the road riding like licensed bikes. See it all the time. They ride just like licensed bikes. Should be only where bikes ride. Not licensed not insured and Ebikes ride in the road like idiots
Hey, don't drive in the street pal. Stick the curb..and be silent.
What episode does the motorcyclist crash his bike in?
Ok technically this is bad show as pushing some one like that aside that he is on the street not bike lane and no registration on his part as to be on the road with that equipment as that road is Main road not a side road type that has slow mode and watch like for anything and give way for everyone and give way and like in for everyone when on a vehicle registered or inside one and mix of give way in like residential areas kids family type areas on the roads that are mostly hidden inlets and type school zones specualised zones etc,.. This is main road that's why both party's can fight in courts over this since is a own risk only travel generally like it is. Good thing he had a helmet on. It better to wear a fully equipped maybe hockey or football gear and then risk on bicycles or any other equipment that are not like street safe equipped to stand arts and entered to law system as worthy to be and etc,. Roads registered and licensed all equipment like under law system allowed and worked in with insurances and etc,. but any other equipment is allowed on your own risk only especially bicycles. Ohh and just cause you se other do it and you don't see hrwar it's not legal at thy moment doesn't mean its not and everyone 100% should read rules and regulations and understand them before trying doing something that other are doing. Cais eit might seem ok legal but it's not till soemthing like this happens. Infrastructure has its rules regulations to protect everyone when in the system. Gist only unedited.
Get ur bike off the road!
There are more laws broken here in this one instance than just a heinous act of attempted vehicular manslaughter(allegedly), or atleast what certainly appears to be, according to the video evidence.
If that person had died. It would have been manslaughter.
Watching this drive by attack on another person's body, or what may have been an act of terrorism, really shakes a person up.
Somewhere in my life, I seem to remember having heard or read something about "the hearts of people waxing cold."
Seeing this act of sheer hatred and utter contempt toward humanity, confirms that's what is happening here.
Pretty sure thst ICBC would love to get ahold of the video.
The biker that pushed him is a fn liar…period.
