Scary Wildfires Threatening Communities Across BC
As the summer heat intensifies, British Columbia is grappling with a wildfire crisis that is affecting vast regions of the province. More than 80 wildfires are currently raging, with nearly half deemed out of control. This alarming situation poses an imminent threat to communities, wildlife, and natural landscapes.
In towns like Peachland and Lytton, residents are facing the harsh reality of evacuation orders and emergency responses. Firefighters are working tirelessly to contain the blazes, but high winds and dry conditions are complicating their efforts. The flames are creeping closer, prompting fears of property loss and safety concerns among locals.
The dangers extend to picturesque areas such as Harrison Lake and Cameron Lake, where smoke fills the air, obscuring the stunning views that draw visitors to these locations. The fires not only threaten homes but also the rich biodiversity that exists in these forested regions. As the situation evolves, the risk of further fires continues to loom, making it imperative for communities to remain vigilant.
With the fire season still in its early stages, residents are urged to stay informed and prepare for the worst. This year’s wildfire season in BC serves as a stark reminder of the challenges posed by climate change and the urgent need for robust fire management strategies to protect both people and the environment.

Yeah
All of Canada is in a hardcore housing crisis but people need "second homes" so they can vacation.
Fires are good for business if you own helicopters and fire fighting aircraft. Just say 'in
Government caused
Leave the fire retardant on your house until fire season is over.

Climate change
Putting "calmed" and "remains out of control" in the same sentence is crazy.
I was driving 3 weeks ago and caught it starting I saw it when it was small and called emergency services no one came I got a video of it
It was a gas-powered vehicle, not an EV that caused the first of many fires. Repeat, a gas powered, human caused vehicle is to blame. Vehicles changed the climate & made it hotter and then a vehicle broke down on the side of the road and then the fire raced up the side of the mountain. When will we learn?
Is it true that Anglo-Saxon Evangelicals are firing all forests globally to expedite the 2nd coming? Burning forest -. reduce O2 and increasing CO2 -> reducing rain -> reducing food -> people struggling -> 2nd Coming Expediation. I can not buy that the temperature of 30 °C can cause a fire.
Why doesn’t the government invest a couple billion a year extra into a fire fighting fleet of dozens of water bombers and additional manpower. I think it’s well worth it considering how much of a problem it is every single year.
evacuate the fish

Been looking at the Cameron Lake smoke from my office window today while watching the skimmer planes on flight radar do their work. Much respect for the immediate response and resilience of the crews out there.
Don't live there, fools!!
Arson fires , not wildfires
USE TECHNOLOGY IONIZE THE CLOUDS
perhaps you should clean your forest dry waste
Oh my God, you're from Alberta and you have a second home here lol go home im from the Okanogan keep the albertas off the road we will be ok
The news media is fear mongering and working for the globalists as usual. the government ahs forgotten how to fight fire
sorry u own 2 homes…. 🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻
Glad to have a home in every province, including Cuba
Arson and poor forestry management are the reasons for these wildfires.
Cameron lake doesn’t have housing so who is evacuated?
come on people there is roads on the top side and the bottom side just put it out its really not that hard
I know it would cost a small fortune but so does the wildfires, and health issues. Why don't they put a sprinkler system throughout the woods and close to citizens homes that can be turned on the minute a fire breaks out.
Last week hikers out of lions bay literally had a camp fire burning last weekend on Brunswick mountain
Why are we not closing hiking trails as humans are idiots.
No fines… no consequences. !
Why report ? Eastern Wankerverse doesn’t care .
Fire prevention doesn’t fit the PQ hippies narrative.
Tens of billions of dollars were collected by the Trudeau government carbon tax but nothing was spent to improve our firefighting or detection capabilities. They claim to care about carbon emissions but since taxing trees doesn’t pay well they don’t seem to mind co2 produced from wildfires.
Never heard of a calm bush fire before …. must be cbc woke terminology
Lytton always burns, and Cameron lake had an fire 2 years ago on the same side of lake, likely human cause or arson…
I have asthma I feel horrible when wildfires happen.I appreciate firefighters work hard in this conditions.
so what was the plan for the last 100 years? just thinking about it now?
