Typical. They claim it's "their oil" and deserve all the profits, yet they have no skills on how to extract the oil, no desire to do the work, no concept of how business works. Then when the do come to power, there is nothing but violence, corruption, deception, and squalor. Sad but it always happens when these people get in charge of ANYTHING
It's the really event.now in png his happying….
Excellent movie. Thank you!
Beware of African Ooga Booga because it’s very powerful and good for you! 😅😅
Great portrayal from the artists and great writing, too! It successfully depicted the complexity of the issue and how the ideal clash with the reality—the challenge of finding a balanced compromise from both sides. Even the nuances of individual beliefs was highlighted well!
I cry a lot on tragic narratives but this one froze my tears and solidified it in my chest that breathing is painful! It is not only about how tragic it is but about how each of the individuals were trapped….forced to be what they would loathe just to fight for what is right… .
Unwavering strengths were portrayed, too—-the mother who would hurt her son to stop him from totally going lost, the son who sacrificed his great life for a cause, the old man who live with guilt and pain from something he tried but failed to prevent, the grandson who could choose to save a life even if it is of their enemy's, that gentleman assistant who stood by what is right and said "no!" when things were not not going right, the executive who would wish to see even when his native counterpart is dismissive.
There are several dialogues with particular impact. " …he died because the elders failed…", "…was I alone to fight the clan…", (the nonverbals of the gentleman who chose to surrender instead of going to London—so powerful!), (that scene where the mother hurt her own son with the knife—short but very powerful message!), (the old man who chose again and again to help the "white guy" despite undergoing therapy to overcome the trauma he experienced from the like of him (white guy)). I could go on!
