Katy Perry and her all-female crew made history as they soared into space on a Blue Origin rocket, leaving Earth behind and shooting “across the sky” like a firework. The star-studded crew included singer Katy Perry, journalist Gayle King, and billionaire Jeff Bezos’ fiancée, Lauren Sánchez, among others, on the NS-31 mission.
The crew members, which also included astrophysicist Aisha Bowe, activist Amanda Nguyen, and filmmaker Kerianne Flynn, each made their way out of the spacecraft after landing back on the ground. Perry, who carried a daisy on board in honor of her daughter Daisy Dove, kissed the ground upon exiting. Nguyen and Bowe followed, and King fell to her knees to kiss the ground, showing their gratitude for a safe journey.
The excitement and joy were palpable as Flynn threw her arms up in the air and cheered, marking the successful completion of their space mission. The all-female crew’s journey into space on the Blue Origin rocket showcased the possibilities for women in space exploration and the impact they can make in the field.
