Decoding conflicts – Sudan: The forgotten war | DW Documentary
Tens of thousands have died in Sudan’s war, and millions have been displaced. Why is the world’s largest humanitarian crisis receiving so little attention?
War has raged in Sudan since April 2023, when the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces began fighting the Sudanese army. Civilians have paid the price for this power struggle. The situation in Darfur is particularly dire, where experts and the United Nations have long warned of signs of genocide.
Why is this war receiving so little international attention? What impact will cuts to international aid have on a country facing such an immense humanitarian crisis? And what role are outside powers such as the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Russia and the United States playing in the conflict? What interests drive these governments to support one side or the other with weapons and funding?
Accounts from those affected reveal the devastating impact of the war on the people of Sudan. A journalist from El Fasher, forced to flee the city, discovers videos of murdered family members and friends circulating on social media. A young doctor spent years performing surgery in trenches or amid bombardment. Experts had warned of a looming humanitarian catastrophe for years. Yet the crisis has continued to escalate. Meanwhile, young Sudanese people are fighting to draw the world’s attention to what is happening in their country. This film traces the origins of the conflict, who is fueling it, and what responsibility Europe shares.

God willing sudan will be free
Because nobody cares about genocides, apparently.
How did it come to this? the war in Gaza generates more revenues for the media, that’s why Sudan is left forgotten. Hypocrites!
Because US And UAE don't want any body to talk about it
which sudan?
Too much competition in the market…
What are the duties of AU? It's a useless body, AU should do something to send enough troops to help sudanese people. Africans should stop expecting western or UN only can solve their problems, I blame African leaders of these crazy atrocities, they ignore and fail to protect its own people. Love from🇰🇪
Sudan, Yemen and Myanmar are the most forgotten conflict. The people in those countries are also suffering
They had a good thing with prosperity and growth. Then they threw it all away for ridiculous reason reasons.
And after all that they expect us to pick up the pieces.
To whom it may concern," Firstpost " news media gives regular updates on the war in Sudan and in Ethiopia, and in Africa in general.
Who's the instigator's in this situation? The instigator's usually talk both sides into conflict and supply weapons. Why not report that? 🤔
Prayers to Sudan 💔 Prayers to Tigray and Congo 💔
Nobody talks about it because nobody cares. Its only about "frEe pAlEsTIne"
GOLD. GREED.
African countries should get together and do something here.
I honestly do not care that there is black on black violence in Sudan to be honest. They wouldn't care if it was happening to us.
Very sad
Those Arab countries need to stop supporting and supplying weapons
you can't just expect tax payers all over the world funding stuff in some perpetual war. at some point you gotta end the war.
Blaming won't solve the problem. Sudan people and government need to clean up their acts. Corruptions and criminals need to be stopped. This war will never end. Pray that they will know Jesus Christ to save them from sins and darkness.
Which countries are arming and sponsoring this ongoing war?
because everybody is participating in Sudan
I worked with refugees supporting recently displaced people living in Cairo, predominantly Sudanese. Every day hundreds of people came for food boxes, cash assistance, psychotherapy and more. The largest humanitarian crisis on Earth is largely ignored because the people who are suffering are overwhelmingly Black and Muslim, period.
