Christmas in Vietnam looks nice
Looks like this got only less than 1k views while his My Channel is Failing, Dating and Was it a Mistake videos got many more views. I guess here come more personal videos..
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year people of Vietnam – we love you! πππ
Saigon Notre Dame to lit up at 6:45, after 7pm you can't move on the sidewalks and so is traffic.
20yrs ago I was shocked at the magnitude of the Christmas decorations in downtown Saigon, they had Christmas lights draping down on tree branches like weeping willows for Dong Khoi, Thong Nhat, Nguyen Hue and Le Loi streets. On top of that they had gates adorned lights for the lunar New Year, so driving under canopies of Christmas lights felt so magical.
This year maybe they had major floods with so many casualties in all 3 regions, so they tone down with the celebrations.
Some observations
– eating on little stools. Very non-Westerm
– malls are ultra modern, better than ours
– sidewalks poorly maintained in parts but more walkable than some SE Asian cities
– motorbikes menacing everywhere
– I can feel the heat
– more foreigners than I expected
– everyone's skinny
– chaotic but relaxed, nowhere feels sketchy or physically dangerous
Saigon is popping!! Love it.
If you want Christmas wonderlands you have to visit the churches in the alleyways in Tan Binh, Go Vap, Tan Phu, Binh Thanh, Thu Duc and district 8, because churches built around the communities and parishioners, therefore not only the churches but the entire neighbourhoods decorated.
The small church in your video is a former chapel inside the French Naval club circle for the French naval officers, so not much of a Christian community around it. All the French hospitals and even the French octagonal Chi Hoa prison have small chapels inside like this, but as the population grew they turned these chapels into churches. There are over 200 parishes in Saigon so you haven't seen nothing yet. Thanks for this early Christmas walk!
Your videos from those places are absolutely beautifulβno question there. The scenery, the storytelling, the quality, all of it is great. But speaking honestly, unless Iβm planning to travel to those locations or have family or personal ties there, itβs hard for me to really connect with that content on a personal level.
When you film in cities like New York or Miami, it feels different for me. I can relate to those environments, the energy, the culture, the everyday life you capture. Itβs familiar, and it draws me in more naturally.
Itβs not that the other videos arenβt goodβtheyβre excellent. Itβs just that I identify more with the U.S. content, and thatβs what keeps my interest the most. Just sharing my perspective as a viewer
Hi A.K! This is a truly Beautiful walk. I also love the live singing at the end. Thank you so much for all of your efforts, always. Merry Christmas to you and your family and friends. God bless you in 2026 πππ
HI Ken… It would be very interesting if you could ask a local , what they think about Christmas, since Christianity is a small minority in Vietnam.
Christmas in Asia is awesome! All the malls are fully decorated. Everybody except the very old people come out. Parents bring their kids out, young couples are out, all the single ladies are out. Viet girls love taking pictures.
In the US, many people just go HOME because it's already dark at 4pm and it's freezing outside. Everything is pricey.
I've eaten at that Som Thai specifically at the start of your video. They claim "Authentic Thai.." but I give it a 6/10
