Title: Forbidden
Summary
In “Forbidden,” directed by Frank Tuttle, the audience is drawn into the turbulent emotional landscape of librarian Lulu Smith, played masterfully by Barbara Stanwyck. Taking a brave leap from her mundane life, Lulu uses her life savings to embark on a romantic cruise to Havana, hoping to ignite a spark of adventure and perhaps love.
Her path crosses with the dashing Bob Grover, portrayed by Adolphe Menjou, whose charm and charisma sweep her off her feet. However, their passionate affair soon spirals into tragedy when Lulu discovers the harrowing truth—Bob is a married man vying for political success. This revelation forces Lulu into a labyrinth of heart-wrenching choices, as she grapples with protecting Bob’s reputation while secretly nurturing their daughter.
Through Stanwyck’s poignant performance and Menjou’s compelling portrayal, “Forbidden” explores themes of love, sacrifice, and the societal expectations that bind individuals. The film captures not only the excitement and hope of new romance but also the inevitable pain that accompanies love entangled in secrecy and sacrifice.

Very good and beautiful movie🎉🎉
What a wonderful old movie. I am crying after watching it. I have not cried over a movie in many decades!
Beautiful lesbian……
Loved it 🥰 👏
It was a great movie Brings to mind how important it becomes to make right decisions and walk away There will be light and peace at the end of the tunnel Great acting 🌹
Great movie. Stanwyck extremely good of course, and this is by far the best acting I ever saw Ralph Bellamy do, best role too. Anyone know any other good performances by him?
I keep bumping into another great Stanwyck performance, thank goodness.
almost 100 yrs later and reporters are still bottom feeding scum
I will never in my lifetime understand how love can be the reason for any person to offer itself at the altar of life. How can any love makes a person a slave to another so that one sacrifice one’s own child and throw away youth, self respect and happiness TO THE FULL EXTENT. How can any man be so great, so totally lovable that any woman goes mad in her love for him so that she prefers to live so many lies. Yes, even kill. No man is worth that much. No man. Selfish cowards.
This was an amazing movie…Barbra Stanwick was outstanding. A heartfelt story well portrayed be all..so sad a story.
This movie is parallel to when Barbara did a .ovie titled "Stella Dallas", which I think she did some time after this one. The plot ending took a different turn than this.
I remember this movie very well. Thanks 😊
Too involid to divorce but not involid enough to raise the baby of the woman who he impregnated before he told her he was married. Sound like Lulu got the raw deal.
Por favor : subtítulos en español! !!!!
A wonderful film , Amazing actors.sad story that happens often in real life .
wow. very impressed with Stanwyck!
❤
The commercials unbelievable. Yet Lady Eve had no Commercials?
I have seen majority of Stanwyck 's films, but not this one. Anything from the 30s, 40s and early 50s with my favorite actress is fine with me.
What a great film. Barbara Stanwyck at her greatest! Why hasn't this film been restored and offered on blu-ray?
This is a wonderful film. Many don’t like the plot or story, art imitates life and what happens in the film really happens in life.
Excellent movie. so bitter-sweet! Thanks for posting!
One of the Greatest Love stories ever performed 🙂
filmin iyi olmadığı başından belli..şöyle tutkulu aşk filmleri yokmu ya..
Barbara Stanwyck was an awesome actress.
Good movie… Sad ending.
Truly sad
Wonderful movie, great plot, acting and directing of course! Love Frank Capra movies! Wish you would put the year of the movie with the title though that would save a trip to Wikipedia or the IMDB to see when it was made, thanks~🥰🎥♥
Wow, this movie has it ALL,! Truly not to be missed. ExcellentL
One of the best movie I've seen!
That was depressing 😔
This is the second "romance on a boat, complications ensue" movie I've seen this week. Was this a fairly common theme?
Filmed in 1931. She was 24… What a beautiful face.
Forbidden (1932)
Lulu: I Love You 💕❤️😘
Great movie. I haven`t seen it before. Thank you!
