The situation has taken a toll on Gaza as well, with Israel’s intensive military operation resulting in the deaths of hundreds of people in northern Gaza over the past three weeks. The World Health Organization and the United Nations are now warning of a catastrophic humanitarian situation in the area, with almost 43,000 Palestinians reportedly killed since Hamas launched its terror attacks on Israel a year ago.
As tensions continue to rise, experts and world leaders are calling for calm and de-escalation to prevent further bloodshed and a worsening of the already dire humanitarian situation in the region.
