Appreciate Mikey being straight about the training data — "no unlicensed partner data," all licensed. Clear answer. But look what it does to the sound. V6 trains on Warner's catalogue plus pairwise user preference signals — two songs, users pick the better one. That optimizes for consensus, not character. Smaller pool, averaging pressure: trades range for polish. Not a bug, it's what the model is. 5.5 had real range… I could follow an interesting thread and it would land somewhere good. I ran V6 today on lyrics and prompts from songs that had worked every time before. Every variation came back flat. First time I've found Suno actually unpleasant with those songs. V6 Wild is more interesting but unreliable in its own way. And now 5.5 is just gone. Not worse-but-still-there… gone. This is enshitification, textbook: build something great, get people dependent on it, then swap it out once the audience is locked in. The licensing deal may be legally necessary. That doesn't make this creatively okay.
RIP – V4.5(all) , V-4.5+/pro & V3.0 you were way more superior and creative that even challenged human but this new models are seriously garbage slop , i make songs in 7+ languages and its same over polished voice across genre's and languages. 😞 DISAPPOINTED
Looked into SUNO. Don't need it. Here's a better fix. Do yourself a solid and up-skill yourself, not just kickety-klack on the keyboard pretending to have musical acumen, recording or engineering talent that you don't have. If you do have those skills, why are you devaluing your time and efforts in the skills you've worked so hard to develop? If you have no musical skills as a producer, musician and engineer – and you are programming to create music at a professional level because of AI – you should be garden-walled, watermarked, labeled as AI-created, and separated from actual professionals, unable to monetize your creations. AI should be used to enhance the DAW tools and plugins musicians and producers already use, that's fine. It should not be used to do your creative thinking and skilled work for you, by scraping musical data from artists without their consent, and without compensation. Instead of using this cheat code – which is ultimately going to take your money in some always increasing, subscription-based way – watch a few videos, take some free classes, get mentored by a professional musician, producer, songwriter or audio engineer. Make important connections, grow your skill sets to make you valuable, put in the work and stand tall with the professionals that have made awesome music for centuries before this cheat tech was even invented. An album/song isn't a product, it's a receipt of the years of hard work, talent, and building of skills to craft your music to life. All SUNO is going to do is create a world of de-skilled, untalented, impatient wannabees, who no longer appreciate talent, hard work, or making human connections – you know, the lifeblood of what it means to be an actual creative human being.
count me as a fan of v6. I was not expecting it to be that good. Much better than 5 and 5.5. I am thinking of redoing all of my previous songs.
The difference between a record label and a subscriber is that the label gets paid (every time) for what it was downloaded from Suno, while the subscriber pays (perpetually) for what he/she uploaded to Suno.
I hope that as the new products are created that the opportunities work both ways. For example, artists that opt in allow others to use their material for some form of compensation but there are many artists on Suno or emerging artists on Suno that are not labeled who may want the same opportunity. So not only could someone use their material material (lyrics etc) from a published artists on a label but user could use material from other users with some form of compensation and potentially create collaborative opportunities between labeled artists and non-labeled artists through the platform.
I was experimenting with a 5.0/5.5 cluster of tracks, essentially a arc of live performance of a studio sessions I created, all in Italian. Anthem, rock, female, carefully structured energy ramp across the intro, 5 verses, 3 choruses, a nice bridge, a final chorus, and a tricky outro. The live performance is hit or miss in 5.x. 6.x nailed it with the same directional tagging. I discovered the training data must have some nice live anthem data, as the result hid any quality issues in the output, as it was a "live recording". But quite impressed. I'm having creative fun repurposing select tracks as live versions, since the energy is intoxicating, and the variation in a stage version of a session track tends to introduce unexpected, engaging artifacts in the instrument sounds, acoustics, and crowd background. I get the irony of AI-generated live performances.
CEO Mikey Schulman is full of shit…. V6 justr come out and it's bad as F# hell… discord poeple are going crazy about it.
4.5+ Pro was their best model… almost everything before had the "shimmer" and almost everything AFTER now sounds like it's piped through a Christmas wrapping paper tube.
BRING BACK 4.5+ PRO!!!!!!!
tl;dr; robber barons get together, suno wants to exist to make money from it's customers, the industry wants another revenue stream. it's up to the industry what they do with the money suno gives them; whether artists get paid or not.
I think she's interviewed him twice…..she's very good
It sounds so terrible, oh no, made some Italo Dance tracks that all sounded boring and the sound quality was very bad.
no one wants to say 'no, the artists might not get paid'; suno doesn't want to say that 'the artists getting paid is between the industry, like warner and bmg, and the artist. we have a deal with the industry' and warner bmg doesn't want to say ' we own the rights and screw the artists every chance we get.' so it will be up to the industry, as rights owners, on an artist by artist basis on how the actual artists get paid. spoiler: they will screw the artists every chance they get.
How about actually paying creators….
If y'all want to strike deal with record companies then make sure each ai artist is also compensated for their original Lyrics. There should be content ID for each user just like YouTube so people don't steal other Ai artist lyrics or sound. We should be eligible to content ID or songs because as it stands we not eligible to content ID our songs simply because we used AI.
Hmmm…the CEO saying of v6 "it's the best version [of Suno] we've put out." Not from my perspective. Not yet, anyway. Was any of this absolutely necessary? May be, but to our detriment. Is the Music Mafia (Warner, Universal, Sony) correct that AI is "stealing" from its artists? No, no more so than I would if I write my own song in the style of my favorite Warner-Universal-Sony artist.
Check out the new update…. mercilessly ripping up peoples established contracts.. imposing new and insane monetisation….started off reasonable..now just like Sony and X box's recent price hike unnecessary and unpopular… people will just go somewhere else
Rip suno it was fun while it lasted, it’s complete trash now
Suno V6 is amazing 🤩 it puts the icing on the cake 🎂
If you think the "Revenue Share" goes to artists your delusional. Labels keep it all!
Suno V6 is a joke. Results are broken ai random sounds, nothing is near to music. It loses context as time progresses, generates random sounds, sometimes the result is like speedup tape.
Basically the mafia that runs the music business said give us the money or we will destroy you. Imagine in the US you have 350 million people and the record labels and publishers say meh there is only 20 people worth listening to.
six sucks, no personality, can’t get the great 4.5 vintage organic sounds
It has never been about Music or Artists. The record labels are extorting SUNO and then not paying the artists! Plus, the labels are using that same extortion money to invest in their own models to compete with SUNO. Billboard is owned by Penske Media. Look it all up….Penske is half owner of "Luminate" the tech that Billboard will use to determine if your song is or is not AI, thus having the power to manipulate the charts. Distgusting.
V6 sounds polished but I've tried a few of my tracks & it literally feels like it sucked the life out of it. I'll stick with my originals & consider V6 for new content. It sounds too flat & lacks the energy that was provided by 4.5+
It's also adding background fx & organ sounds I don't care for changing the original song even when I adjust the sliders to 100% style & audio influence with variety off.
ahhhhh! Hard pass for now ..
Too many ads interrupting this. Lost interest.
Amazing tool thx for Version V6-Wild / v6-pro
3:21 Maaaaan STFU with that BS, complete 180 on his previous statement:
"It's not really enjoyable to make music now. It takes a lot of time, it takes a lot of practice, you need to get really good at an instrument or really good at a piece of production software. I think the majority of people don't enjoy the majority of the time they spend making music."
