I still think people are underestimating how hard it is to replace diesel. Saving money on paper is one thing, but running a nationwide freight network is a completely different challenge.
If the numbers in this video are accurate, then the biggest threat to Tesla Semi isn't diesel trucks anymore — it's Tesla's ability to actually produce enough of them.
Everyone talks about range, but almost nobody talks about brake wear on mountain routes. That alone could be a game changer for some fleets.
The infrastructure argument feels weaker every year. People said the same thing about EV cars a decade ago, and look where we are now.
Honestly, if a fleet manager …ve 60% on energy costs, they don't care whether the truck is electric, diesel, or powered by magic.
What surprises me most is how many trucking companies that were skeptical are now running real-world trials. That says more than any Tesla presentation.
I wonder if diesel manufacturers made a huge mistake by assuming battery trucks wouldn't become practical this quickly.
The real question isn't whether Tesla Semi is better than diesel. The real question is whether the savings are big enough to justify changing an entire fleet.
Some people are acting like diesel is finished, but we've heard similar predictions before. I'll believe it when electric trucks dominate long-haul routes, not just pilot programs.
I should by one to rent out

เยี่ยมมากค่ะ❤❤❤
I like the braking regeneration. And what a saving on brakes.
Tesla's Semi is the next disrupter of an industry.
This Tesla Semi Heavy Haul rig in Europe will be like crack to a drug user. I predict a complete disruption of the freight heavy haul equipment and with the lead time for competitors to get EV competitive trucks to market… Goodbye Scania, Volvo, Daimler, Volkswagen group. 500 miles is long haul for Europe. Charging stations can be located at distribution depots for the vast majority of heavy haul freight throughout Europe lowering even recharge electric rates for entire fleets by keeping most recharge in house.
Tesla has more than enough time to make more plants as the competition has fallen asleep and been left far behind i.e.. The vertical stack investment Tesla has made (patents, factories for in part chips, batteries, motors, FSD, etc.) over the years into the many trillions of dollars today and at least a decade to get factories built after the many years it will take to fix the design of all the components, then more years to figure out how to manufacture, and make a true competitor at scale for the semi. This seems unlikely even under the most unrealistic of competitors favorable conditions. This race has already been run and all that's left is for the world to recognize what an accomplishment this is. Just getting the data from the trucks back to Tesla requires massive AI compute centers and a satellite network to enable real time monitoring for service and eventual FSD. This is far beyond any auto/truck manufacturer's existing capabilities.
At this point it's too late even if every Truck manufacturer joined together to have any realistic chance of getting competitive with Tesla Semi Heavy Haul Trucks' to the market in time to hold even a small segment of the marketplace.

By adding Megapack battery storage to the 1.2MW fast semi charger plazas/depots these charging stations will be able to easily handle multiple recharges simultaneously w/o over burdening the electrical grid and recharging the Megapacks during low demand periods enabling the recharge station to engage at full capacity Semis' concurrently. Ray
PS A single Megapack 2 XL will charge completely from an exhausted battery state 10-15 trucks. These megapacks will charge trucks during power outages further enhancing reliability.
If they add a recharge attendant and implement FSD, Tesla can probably have 60% to 70% of the freight as quickly as they can produce the fleet!

ICE/Diesels are dead, they just don't know it yet.
One problem, your tesla semi weighs 3 to 5 times more than diesel truck before even attach trailer. Your battery my regenerate downhill but a fully legally loaded trailer wouldn't make up Rockies. All your videos show it pulling empty or light loads. Technology or Tesla bullshit trucks are only good for short distance less than 150 miles.
You video is also using AI narration and alot of AI content and bullshit facts.
With the strain on the power grid as it stands right now is getting to the breaking point. Now add in AI data centers and these Electric Trucks, all that will break the grid. Hell California is already telling people (at certain times) not to charge their electric vehicles. States like NY have taken Nuclear power plants off line and won't be able to keep up with the power demand.

I found this on a trucking channel-
tractor/trailer loaded to 80,000lbs>
Diesel = $1.00/mi
Electric = $0.40/mi
Hydrogen = $4.00/mi

I am surprised that Tesla has not designed a delivery van. Something similar to a sprinter van for sale to fleets like Amazon, UPS, DHL, Fedex, etc. These could also be turned into camper vans etc. I think there would be a huge demand for these. It seems obvious but there must be a reason they are not doing it.
The UPS center I worked at has been “installing” a Tesla charging system for years. Videos like these are becoming boring. Piss or got off the pot. Enough talk.
Way overwritten. Using big words doesn't mean better.
I predict BIG FAILURE
That's something a petroleum powered vehicle can not do. Capture momentum and store the recovered energy for later use. A petroleum powered vehicle can only dissipate the excess energy as waste heat, either in the engine or brakes. As mentioned in the video some times these systems become overwhelmed.
you constantly repeat that diesel trucks need to use their brakes when going down a hill, haven't you heard of engine braking i,e, Jake Brakes?
in any case the purpose of regen braking is to recharge the battery, slowing the vehicle down is a side effect, do you know what happens when the battery is fully charged? when that happens regen braking stops.
The privlem with evs is they are cutting out the co2 that plants need to live , the cureent amount of co2 in the atmosphere is about 0.04 % and at aprox 0.02% plants struggle to grow properly, so evs are cutting out a nessacary molecule from our food production infrastructure.
Ask yourself this why do tunnel houses add c02 to the atmosphere inside the tynnels?
Somewwhere between 0.08 and 0.12% ?
C02 is needed , the carbon dioxide narrative is bs
My only concern is lack of bull bar for deer, buffalo, cattle on rural roads.
Hate to see what damage will be sustained.
A well designed polymer impact bar to mitigate front end dameae is needed.
Maybe a structurally integrated collision bar could be built to the underside of the front nose panels.
They don't need a sub station, they deploy mega packs and recharge overnight when prices are lower and not draw huge from the local grid
