Poor Ralph. Or blessed Ralph who had a loving family and obviously still knew they were safe and loving for him. Thank you to his family for allowing him in the study.
Start with all the fukkin vaccines.
Look after Ralph. He spent his whole life loving you!
I was excited at first- I thought they were helping dogs live longer 😂
❤ 😢❤
Kind of disturbing this family pet was a means to an end and this drug trial was ultimately not even to benefit his species.
OMG my little dog had dementia. It was so sad to see her wither away😢❤❤❤❤
What is a good diet?
Give Your dog, what he/she was suposed to eat, MEAT.
No suger, no grains.
Great that they are working to extend human lifespans, but if they truly want to make the world a better place, work to extend the life of dogs. Humans already live long enough. I would happily exchange years from my life to add years for my dogs.
Research? No research needed. These dogs have been fed carbohydrates their whole lives even though they require no carbohydrates at all since they are carnivores. It’s the same problem that exists for humans. Dementia is properly classified as Type 3 diabetes. Eliminate the carbohydrates and you eliminate the dementia.
Sweet Ralph! I had a Staffy rescue who lived to be 21. She had 10 puppies 2 weeks after I found her. It was never our intention to keep her…but she pulled us in to her heart and we could let her go. She never showed dementia but did get arthritis that eventually left her in too much pain. She maybe could’ve lived longer 🤷♀️
She was the best! She had been a bait dog in fighting until she got pregnant so she was discarded on a busy street. She was loving, sweet, protective and had unlimited energy for the three of us kids. She pulled us on skateboards and bikes, kept watch over us from her raft in the pool, ran miles and miles with me, just absolutely ❤. If I wasn’t home, she would sleep on my running shoes, but she always slept on my bed at night (never my brothers’ 😂
😢
I don’t want to live longer if my dogs aren’t there.
Dogs are humans best friends, but I like cats too.
I like dogs and cats much better than I like Kristi Noem.
Thank you so much Ralph, you were such a good and handsome boy😍
You will never be forgotten!! ❤ 🌌🖤
I was more interested when I thought they were going to find ways to make dogs healthier and longer-lived.
I'm super happy they're using well cared for pets instead of animals held in captivity for years or decades in laboratory settings.
😢
poor baby. my baby is 10 and suffered his first 5 years in a puppy mill. dogs are truly angels.
My dog is in this study
Don't care, didn't watch and won't… no longer trust this organization.
Carnivore diet! Stop feeding kibble with corn and soy
I can see Ralph was a certified Good Boy. However I can’t have another dog after Max. He was a border collie mix. Whew! was he ever smart. Would NOT tolerate flies in the house!! bounced off everything chasing them…..I miss that dog.
I hope they are not just studying commercial pharmaceuticals and also including promising fungi like lions mane mushrooms shown to enable neuroplasticity
60 Minutes and CBS are over.
Love is the way forward.
STUDY THE GARBAGE FOOD FOR CATS AND DOGS THAT GIVE THEM ALL KIND OF THE DISEASES IN THE MARKET FIRST.THAT IS THE CAUSE, AND THE EVIL COMPANIES THEY ARE MAKING THEM,AND VET HOSPITALS AND MEDICINE COMPANIES THEY ALL BENIFT FROM OUR MONEY ,AFTER THEY MAKE OUR PET SO ILL .THEY SHOULD GO TO HELL 👹
Boycott CBS
Feed them real meat, what they would eat naturally.
Ralph! ❤
Just breaks my heart to see this
Maybe just longer life for dogs. We're not being very cool as a species.
AWWWWW Ralph !
Thanks Ralph…Good Boy!
We had a dog named Charcoal who looked exactly like Ralph, and unfortunately in his last 8 months of life had what is probably dementia. Three months before he died/we put him down, he had a massive seizure when he was staying at my mother's house, so he didn't see it ourselves. But from that point on he would often go in circles.
Most dogs are better than most humans . RIP Ralph
So how or are we helping dogs in their dementia as well? They are a big part of our family, but are we including them in the treatment goals?
Only four words in the end “and a good diet”. Gotta love science and 60 minutes coverage!
Dogs get dementia? That’s the worst thing I’ve heard.
This makes me so sad.
All disease comes down to damage to a significant number of the 30 trillion cells that compose our bodies. Inflammation is the term we use to describe the signs and symptoms of cell damage. While the inflammatory response to damaged cells can cause additional cell damage, the most important question is what caused the initial cell damage, and what can we do to prevent it.
I get that we have to do research to save humans. But what about doing studies to prolong a dog’s life? I mean they are part of our families and lives; and it’s cruel that they have such a short lifespan compared to us.
Lets have longer and healthier lives for dogs too. ❤
Bro I know that little girl her name is Eloise and she goes to my school
