Three FDNY firefighters found themselves in a terrifying situation over the weekend when two large shop awning signs collapsed on top of them during a fire in Manhattan. The incident, which took place in Washington Heights, left the firefighters hospitalized and in need of medical attention.
Video footage of the incident shows the firefighters standing outside a burnt-out storefront when the metal awnings suddenly gave way and fell on top of them. The signs for Tumblr Snack Shop and Rosie’s Beauty Salon came crashing down, pinning several firefighters to the ground and breaking into pieces.
