Trump Declares U.S. Control Over Venezuela Following Military Action Against Maduro
In a stunning address, President Donald Trump announced that the United States would assume control of Venezuela after a series of “large-scale strikes” reportedly led to the capture of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores. This bold move comes amid a backdrop of escalating tensions in the region, as Trump has long accused Maduro of engaging in drug trafficking and maintaining an illegitimate grip on power.
Trump’s announcement, made from Florida, detailed the legal implications of the actions taken against Maduro. He stated that both Maduro and Flores have been indicted in the Southern District of New York for their alleged involvement in “deadly narco-terrorism against the United States and its citizens.” This rhetoric is consistent with the Trump administration’s longstanding narrative about the Venezuelan leadership being a criminal enterprise.
Despite Venezuelan constitutional law stipulating that Vice President Delcy Rodríguez should assume the presidency following Maduro’s capture, Trump indicated that his administration is in negotiations regarding her role. Notably, he highlighted that Rodríguez was “picked by Maduro,” raising questions about her legitimacy and ability to lead in the eyes of both the U.S. and the Venezuelan people.
In a compelling promise to Venezuelans, Trump asserted that the U.S. aims to repair the country’s “rotting” oil infrastructure, which has been a critical industry for Venezuela’s economy. He claimed that this effort would not only revitalize the nation but also generate profits that could be funneled back to the U.S. as reimbursement for “drug trafficking-related damages.” This statement underscores the administration’s intent to reshape not only Venezuela’s industrial landscape but also the economic relationship between the two nations.
As the world watches this unprecedented shift in U.S.-Venezuelan relations, questions loom regarding the future governance of Venezuela, the fate of its citizens, and the broader implications of American intervention in sovereign nations. The unfolding situation represents a significant pivot in U.S. foreign policy and raises urgent concerns about stability in the region.

God bless America ❤
I have met many Venezuelans while traveling in other South American countries. All of them had fled Venezuela. They loved their country, but had to escape the corruption and authoritarianism it had devolved into.
My greatest hope is that Venezuela can recover from the damage socialist authoritarianism has caused their nation, and that their expats can finally return home.
Trump will never leave office now. USA is gone as we know it. He will be coming after Canada next.

I support Trump but I don't know if I like this. Then again I don't understand much about it. Either way though Trump has not done to much to waiver my trust. Hes done well.
How many Venezuelans hate Trump?
Trump can barely speak a coherent sentence or keep his eyes open. Yeah, this will end well.

It's fine, Trump will pardon Maduro as soon as he invests into the ballroom

The speech slurring… so who will RIP first Trump or Biden? Place your bets
Well, well, well, Capt Bonespurs pulls a Putin on Venezuela. Just so he can steal his oil. He now shows his true colours. China will be watching. For every action there is a reaction. Nothing happens in a vaccuum.
The Monroe Doctrine was put in please to prevent the European monarchs from colonizing the Americans. However, this administration extended the doctrine with the Trump Corollary, which enforce US dominance and prevent all foreign interference, not just European, in the Western Hemisphere. This invasion of Venezuela is all because Venezuela and China were making business deals. The Trump administration and the private industries manipulating in the background don't want any business competition or limits to their business monopolies.
We're living a South Park episode
Who runs US foreign policy ? Which ideology ? Who lobbies for it ? Real US patriots, the 1776 crowd, like Thomas Massie and Rand Paul, are against this brutalism as are millions of hardcore US patriots. So who is behind it ?
Free cocaine free base for all trump officials and administration members. Theyre going to party like its 2026. Dick clarks rocked out new years.

Venezuela has the world's largest oil reserves and 80% of shipments go to China. I wonder how many people the U.S. murdered during the kidnapping.

Who's making bets as to the media saying Trump is a dictator for trying to actually solve problems? Nothing like enemies being defended by the people they would kill in a heart beat.
Maduro was a criminal and the US already destroyed all of Venezuela's defenses. This was a huge but quick operation.
