UAE Suspends All Trade With Iran Following Ballistic Missile Attack
In a significant escalation of regional tensions, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced a complete suspension of trade with Iran, following a recent ballistic missile attack that has sent shockwaves through the Middle East. The move reflects deepening concerns among Gulf states about Iranian military capabilities and their implications for regional stability.
Middle East correspondent Sameer Hashmi, speaking with Tom Nunan on Times Radio, highlighted that the attack serves as a potent reminder of the shifting dynamics in the region. According to Hashmi, many in Iran feel they are capitalizing on a moment of strategic advantage, particularly given the ongoing blockade of the vital Strait of Hormuz. This waterway is critical for global oil shipments, and any disruption to its operation can have profound economic repercussions worldwide.
The situation is further complicated by the expiration of a memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran. With this diplomatic framework no longer in place, the recent attack may be interpreted as Iran’s attempt to send a clear message to its rivals, particularly targeting U.S. allies in the Middle East. By upping the ante, Iran could be testing its adversaries’ resolve, signaling a return to more aggressive postures in the face of perceived isolation.
The ramifications of the UAE’s decision to sever trade ties with Iran are considerable. Trade relations between the two nations have long been fraught with tension, but this step reflects a new level of urgency among Gulf states to distance themselves from Iranian influence. It highlights the ongoing realignment of alliances in a region plagued by conflict and the ever-present threat of military escalation.
As the situation unfolds, observers will be monitoring the responses from Tehran and Washington closely. The stakes have never been higher, and as both sides navigate this turbulent landscape, the potential for further conflict looms large. The UAE’s suspension of trade with Iran marks a pivotal moment in the region’s intricate web of geopolitics, underscoring the delicate balance of power that hangs precariously in the balance.

Too little too late
Mossad false flag.😊
THIS SEGMENT ALMOST NORMALISES THE SITUATION REMEMBER THIS IS AN ILLEGAL WAR BEING RUN BY A CONVICTED FELON AND AN INDICTED WAR CRIMINAL AVOIDING CORRUPTION CHARGES! THEN THE NEGOTIATORS FROM THE US MAKING MONEY FROM INSIDER TRADING AND KNOWLEDGE! SICK TIMES!
THE UAE 🇦🇪 needs to grow some balls and fight back.
Iran always denies 🫠🫠🫠🫠
UAE must ARM to the teeth. Get ballistic missiles, drones, torpedoes. Ukraine can help them
So the UAE has been supporting the Iranian economy the whole time.
Is Iran running out of high precision missiles or was this just meant to send a message 🧐
I just checked the trade data – about half of the products sold by UAE to Iran in 2023 were telephones. I don't think they are manufactured in UAE, so Iran hardly loses by cutting out the middle man. Iran mostly sold agricultural products to UAE, but in any case these were less than 0.5% of Iran's total exports. So this all looks like posturing by UAE.
The host comes with a pre conceived idea of where he wants to direct the argument.
The initial response from the guest is to point out that the Iranians have denied being responsible for the missiles.
At This point the only thing is to do investigation to establish who maybe responsible?
The host, however goes. "What would they be shooting at? Who is he referring to, hasn't he heard that the Iranians have already denied?
The UAE was the most heavily bombed country during the intense Iranian attacks. They fared well thanks to good air defense. They were bombed more than Israel.
UAE. What a joke, This is a corrupt family business and not a state
Oh no….
Where will Iran buy sand now…?
UAE, aka occupied Oman.
you get what you sow dealing with a blood-thirsty dictator with a lot of ballistic missiles and a vow to strike if it's attacked by US. surprise? that's chicken having come home to roost, dude. enjoy !
It was only a horny bird flying not missile
I stand with all that is against America and Israel!
Gogogo Iran!
UAE out of Sudan. stop sponsoring genocide. and the British and US should stop sponsoring the genocide in sudan
UAE of Israel
So Iran now officially has the right to treat the UAE as a hostile country, yeah that means no more heads up, Yieks.
Is this like what turkeyie said theyd stop trade with the apartheid state but never did😂
Can the US or Israel be involved to further isolate Iran?
Iran could have finished way back had Mad Trump not have restrained Isreal.
Only Isreal knows better how to deal with Arab terrorists.
Yes indeed, Donald Trump does like to say inflammatory things to rile his opponents … perhaps Marco Rubio should explain to him that if you do that in the Middle East, people are likely to start shooting and firing missiles at you … it’s a bit different from the real estate business ….
"If" missiles were fired by Iran. Iran has not been shy about taking credit for attacks before but deny this one. I would think verifying the origin is important.
This is just a little warning to the UAE: you can't play both sides going forward. Cut your ties to the US and Israel if you want to continue living in this neighborhood.
Well now Iran has no reason to keep this micro state thats been begging america to keep iran sanctioned so they dont lose traffic in their Jebel ali port… they know the world will go to iranian ports if iran demands it for entry in the straits… UAE will be a iranian territory within 10 years
Whilst 2.9% is laughable for real inflation for most people in day-to-day life, think by next Spring we'll dream of 2.9%
