A lawsuit has been filed against tech company Lovo by a couple in the US who claim that the company has been using AI technology to create copies of their voices without their permission. The couple alleges that these AI copies of their voices have been used online without their knowledge or consent.
The lawsuit raises important questions about the rights of voice artists and the potential misuse of technology to replicate human voices. The couple claims that Lovo has not only violated their right to control their own voices, but also potentially infringed on their ability to earn a livelihood as voice artists.
This case serves as a reminder of the ethical and legal implications of AI technology and highlights the need for greater regulation and oversight in the use of such technology. As AI continues to advance at a rapid pace, it is essential that individuals have the right to protect their own voices and the work they have created.
The outcome of this lawsuit could have significant implications for the future of AI technology and the rights of individuals in the digital age. It remains to be seen how the court will rule on this case and what impact it will have on the wider tech industry.

Didn't think the voices sounded identical.
This sounds a little like going through a list of hundreds and hundreds of voices and then say, hey this one sounds somewhat like me….
This is not Artificial Intelligence, its Artificial Legality
These people sound super normal. How are they voice overs?
Off all the voices you could steal….
I wanna speak to the manager !!!
Ursula "stole" Ariel's voice. It didn't end well for Ursula…
It's synthetic. It's not your voice.
I know human beings that sound like others. Who do you sue.
I heard "David Attenborough" advertising dodgy financial products on YouTube about 6 months ago.
If a time machine were possible, it would clone the entire person. That's why you sometimes see people who resemble us but may lack certain traits that most people cannot easily identify.🤫
Can you prove it?
Do you have patent on your voice?
Exactly, move along….
This is what happens when you let the Genie out of the bottle and don't teach it how to play nice and now it's too late.
Didn't even sound like him. And he doesn't have an original voice anyway it's kinda common..its not like Morgan Freeman's voice where its unmistakably him when you hear it
YOU NEEDS THESE SKILLS "ENGLISH PODCAST FACE https://youtu.be/p42immfeCC0?si=ntxLM0BXmw52_qyE
Lost cause, they have got what they wanted by willing contributors- it is all banked now and will be used as and when they want to use them. It will be very differcult to prove " that is my voice" as they will say it is just someone with a similar accent or enunciation.
One of the voice samples sounds like older recordings of Michael Kramer 😶🌫️
this is why AI is dangerous 😢
Oh boo boo. I lost my job to a computer. Go file for unemployment. 😅😅😅
We really need to update laws regarding our personal data and biometrics. The texh companies are MEGA WEALTHY and they are making money from and commodifying our data and we should be reimbursed!
We also need to look at legislation for identifying us online, social media is so toxic because people feel they're anonymous, so they can spew hateful bile without consequences.
JohnDoe1488 thinks he can spread extremist, racist and misogynistic crap because he's basically invisible, if hd had to go online using his real details, name + address I think they'd be less hate and less young men and women getting radicalised
Wait till voice artist see all the porn online using their voices
That's up to them and copyright holders
I think the real problem here is that AI is ultimately going to replace many jobs without new jobs appearing leading to an inevitable decline in employment rate. If we no longer need humans to run the economy then we are going to need a new way of distributing wealth. I don't think banning AI is the solution, we need to prepare for an automated economy and design new policies to adapt to this new world.
These VA's are morons.
👏👏👏👏
If my friend sounds just like you can you sue him too? 😂
How on earth do some people think they have the right to use a part of someone or his/her creation for free without permission? AI or not, how dare?
This is what happens when technology precedes the laws that govern it. BY the time the law catches up, it's too late to reign in the tech. This is nothing new and will only get worse, especially with AI which will dramatically change how the world operates. The public has access, the corporations have access, and if it can make money it will be used exploitatively. The concept of individuality will blur as AI replicates how we look, talk, move, etc. Welcome to the future. Good luck fighting it.
