Textile Alchemy by TAAKK, Paris Men Fall/Winter 2025-26

The fall/winter 2025-2026 show of TAAKK presented at Paris Fashion Week is a stunning display of textile alchemy and surrealism. Designer Takuya Morikawa draws inspiration from his childhood memories, particularly his father’s robotic inventions and his mother’s Rene Magritte art book. This personal exploration of innovation is evident in the collection, which aims to challenge norms and reveal hidden possibilities through its designs.

The collection features a fusion of seemingly disparate fabrics and garments, such as leopard print and denim, wool and herringbone, and souvenir jackets transforming into tailored jackets. These combinations create visual paradoxes and “depaysement,” transporting viewers to a surreal and dreamlike world.

Morikawa’s commitment to fabric innovation is showcased through the use of new materials, such as a mixture of wool and denim created through a special fusing process, and gradient woven fabrics. Fur appears to grow out of wool tweed and cotton, adding another layer of surreal texture to the collection.

Overall, TAAKK’s fall/winter 2025-2026 collection is a masterpiece of textile alchemy, blending different fabrics and garments to create a truly innovative and surreal fashion experience.
