At TEDx Dublin, Noelle explained that we assume that doing good means relying on donations and short-term funding, but argued this model is unsustainable. NGOs and social impact organisations are often stuck in a cycle of financial insecurity, unable to scale their solutions effectively. For real, lasting change, Noelle says that NGOs must stop thinking like charities and start acting like businesses.
What if we flipped the script? What if NGOs embraced entrepreneurial thinking—focusing on revenue-generating strategies, impact investment, and sustainable business models?
In this talk, Noelle explored how social impact can evolve beyond charity, using innovative funding models and strategic partnerships to create long-term, systemic change. The future of doing good isn’t about giving—it’s about building.
Noelle aims to challenge the outdated perception of NGOs as dependent on donations, show how entrepreneurial strategies can create scalable, sustainable impact, and inspire NGO leaders, funders, and changemakers to adopt a new mindset for social impact.
