Hurricane Melissa: Jamaica Left ‘Severely Compromised’ as Destruction Comes to Light
Hurricane Melissa has proven to be a force to be reckoned with as it continues its relentless journey across the Caribbean. With winds reaching 125 mph, this tempest has torn through Jamaica, leaving a trail of destruction that authorities say is unprecedented for the island, marking it as the strongest storm to strike Jamaica in 174 years.
As reports of damages begin to emerge, the scale of the devastation is becoming increasingly clear. From uprooted trees to collapsed structures, residents are grappling with the aftermath of an event that has made them feel vulnerable. The storm passed directly over Jamaica, initially diminishing in strength to Category 3; however, it swiftly regained momentum, re-strengthening to Category 4 as it approached the coast of Cuba.
The National Hurricane Center (NHC) issued updated advisories, cautioning that Melissa is expected to remain a formidable hurricane as it moves across Cuba, the Bahamas, and near Bermuda. Officials are especially concerned about the imminent impact on Cuba, where landfall is anticipated in the coming hours. The NHC warns that Melissa will arrive as an “extremely dangerous major hurricane,” a designation that heightens fears for residents in the affected areas.
As Jamaica begins the process of recovery, emergency services are mobilizing to assess the damage and restore essential services. The island, known for its vibrant culture and scenic beauty, now faces a daunting challenge as it picks up the pieces from this unprecedented natural disaster.
In the coming days, all eyes will remain on Hurricane Melissa, its path closely monitored as it continues to move across the Caribbean. The resilience of the affected communities will surely be tested, and the resolve to rebuild will emerge as a beacon of hope amidst the destruction.

Hurricane Melissa: Jamaica Left 'Severely Compromised' 0742am 29/10/25 was it has bad as they suggested or have they hyped this up beyond reason?
I had a dream about this
oh well. nothing of value has been lost here
May God help the poor people of Jamaica, with food , and shelter
They'll be asking for fifty million pounds in aid soon, as if the insurance doesn't cover a few missing roof tiles.
Melissa looked quite small. It missed all the bigger towns and cities.
JUST SO EVERYONE KNOWS, THEY ARE MAKING JAMAICA A "SMART ISLAND" 2030. this is convenient don't you think. Since we mess with the weather now and can control it
I think our whole world is serverly compromised today.
All this bulsh1t of 200mph winds is a nonsense. They're treating you as fools. Weather Underground has live and historical readings from hundreds of weather stations in Jamaica. The highest wind gust reading I could find was 60mph, which whilst very strong and will cause damage, is nowhere near the crap the ClImATE shill media are paid to over exaggerate, to fool the hard of thinking into paying more tax and losing freedoms because weather is getting more extreme. It's not, the lies are.
